When an author tells you they like to be liked, you would hope their story makes them likeable. For Mr Bennett, his story was oddly disjointed and painted him as flighty, entitled, childish and too obsessed with drinking for me to really like him.
However, his book did shed light on a question: does anyone else really KNOW what they are doing? Or are we all, mostly, just making it up? To which, it seems, the answer is yes.
Lacks purpose.
