My first time reading New Zealand author Katherine Mansfield, but I'm curious to try more. All three stories had a bit of eeriness that pervaded throughout, with a strong focus on individuals and relationships with loneliness, vanity, and obsession.

Abailliekaras I love her! I keep meaning to read more. Adding to stack! 📚 8y

Three short, chilling stories with fleeting moments of lyrical strangeness & beauty. The first "Marriage a la Mode" is a tale of vanity & the personal changes that can occur during marriage, the title story is a penetrating look at social isolation & loneliness & in "The Stranger" a husband's overwhelming dependence on his wife borders mania. This is my first experience with Katherine Mansfield. I will most definitely be reading more.
