#GratefulReads - Classic You Haven‘t Read: This book received a higher priority after The Great American Read list was made available to the public. It‘s a good thing that list made me take a closer look because what I thought I knew about this book is nothing like the actual plot overview. I don‘t know where I got my idea of the synopsis🤷🏽‍♀️ which had resulted in not wanting to read it, but I am interested now.

Lcsmcat Little Women is what made me read it. I wanted to know what Jo Beth Amy and Meg read. 4y

Nute @Lcsmcat I wonder if Little Women is where I first heard of this book? That same concept usually appeals to me...if a character is a heavy reader in a book or on a television show and mentions or list books then I want to read the same books too. However, for this book I had some screwed up idea about the plot and there was no intention to read it not until it was mentioned on GAR...now I‘m totally on board after reading the introduction to it.🙂 4y
Nute @Alwaysbeenaloverofbooks I think how classic literature is approached (especially since it is usually introduced in high school) makes all the difference in enjoyment and then sustaining a committed desire to explore future and possibly harder reads. I know there is a classic book out there for you. I‘ll be so excited to hear about it when you make the discovery!🙂 4y
Lcsmcat @Alwaysbeenaloverofbooks It makes a difference if you think of classics as just stories that were so good lots of people loved them. 4y
