If this was Happiness: A Biography of Rita Hayworth | 
pickI have a thing for bios of actors from the 30s and 40s but hadn't indulged in one for years. This was great! A straight forward bio - based on facts and eyewitness accounts - of a life that was definitely NOT straight forward. Rita Hayworth was a shy pretty girl that was manipulated by almost every man she met & made a glamorous icon by the Hollywood publicity machine. It's such a sad life but the book stays a little removed making it readable.
