Ash Falls | 
pickA book I chose randomly, glad I stumbled across this fine novel by Warren Read. Set in the 1990s (?) in a small town in the Pacific Northwest, it centers around Ernie Luntz's prison 'escape', but focuses on and is told from the perspective of the people in the town Ash Falls whose lives are connected with Ernie's. Not a thriller but a portrait of different characters. Beautiful writing, wish it had been edited better.
