Eclogues. Georgics. Aeneid: Books 1-6
Eclogues. Georgics. Aeneid: Books 1-6 | Virgil, G P Goold
1 post | 1 read | 1 to read
Virgil (70 19 BCE) was a poet of immense virtuosity and influence. His Eclogues deal with bucolic life and love, his Georgics with tillage, trees, cattle, and bees. His Aeneid is an epic on the theme of Rome s origins. Poems of the Appendix Vergiliana are traditionally, but in most cases probably wrongly, attributed to Virgil.

Day 15 of #FallIntoBooks #CarpeDiem
It may not be "seizing the day" but I loved learning Latin back in secondary school. Virgil's aeneid was one of my favourites to translate. I wish I had kept it up, I'm a bit rusty now ?

Bluebird I loved this book, but I read it mostly in English translation because My Latin was never very good: my speed was more for Winnie Ille Pu. One day I'd like to go back and relearn the language. 7y
