I'm so glad I took my own advice and got the Audiobook for the second installment of D.O.D.O
This felt like a totally different book from the first. All the characters I came to care for were either not there at all, or pushed aside so much that they became inconsequential.
I didn't like the new character, and it felt like we only ever travelled to one place - one I didn't care for.
And the ending was such a disappointment I can't even...

julesG It's been years since I read it. I enjoyed it, but probably because at that point it had also been years since I read DODO. I also missed characters. 3h
TheAromaofBooks I was SO disappointed in this book. 2h

Starting this today…it‘s been on my shelf for ages. I doubt I‘ll finish it by the end of the month, so it should give me a head start on July‘s #bookspinbingo board!

Shamed is the 11th book in the Kate Burkholder Series by Linda Castillo. The small town of Planters Mill, Ohio, is shocked when an Amish grandmother is brutally murdered. Kate Burkholder is the Chief of Police and comes upon the scene. Not only is the grandmother killed, but her special needs granddaughter is missing. Burkholder is not being told the truth by the Bishop or family. Will Burkholder get to the truth before it's too late?⬇️

Castillo has grown Kate Burkholder so
during these 11 books, though she still takes chances. I enjoy learning a little bit about the Amish as I read these books. All of the characters have developed, and Castillo has not lightened the suspense any. If you enjoy Police Procedural books, then you ought to give the Kate Burkholder Series a try.

Det Lieutenant Eve Dallas is called to the scene of a puzzling murder.. The founder of computer gaming company U-Play, has been found murdered in his locked holo-room. According to the security logs, no-one else entered or left the room during the time of the murder, not even the house droid, so how did Bart Minnock end up literally losing his head?

OutsmartYourShelf The 30th case for Dallas & Peabody is a locked room mystery with a difference! I really enjoyed the storyline & there were several scenes of banter between Dallas & Peabody, but the funniest scene for me was the one with Dallas & Trina (the beautician) - had me laughing out loud. This series shows no signs of flagging when it's still getting 4/5 stars from me 30 books in. 4.5🌟

The Holy Terrors | Simon R. Green

61/100 Simon R. Green is my favorite author. Including this audiobook, I've read 53 of his novels. This isn't close to his best work, but it is still quite fun. Four D-List celebrities join a ghost hunting show, and find themselves locked in a haunted hall where they must spend the night. At first it's all creepy noises and sudden lights going out, no one is sure if it's real or just put on by the show's producer, but then one of the ⬇️⬇️

RamsFan1963 celebrities dies. Was it a ghost or is it a more human killer?!! Its all pretty lighthearted fun, and it's not really hard to figure who/what is the murderer. 4 ⭐ #Read2025 #SeriesLove2025 2d

60/100 Book 2 of The Hot War trilogy. Like most middle books, not a lot happens, the plot is moved forward a little, and sets up the conclusion for the final novel. The various POVs, from both sides of the war, is the main point of interest. Some lives get better, some get worse, but the war is seen from all angles, both military and civilian. Onward to the concluding volume, Armistice. 4.5 ⭐ #Read2025 #SeriesLove2025

#serieslove2025 Although slower than the first book, the ending made up for it. I‘m enjoying this murder mystery fantasy- I love the setting and friendships just as much as the love story. Good thing I have the next in the series ready to go. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

AnnCrystal It's always wonderful when you already have the next book in a series waiting for in your very own library 📚👏🏼🥳💝. 3d
