We‘ve gotten some answers and some more pieces of the puzzle. I‘m curious where book five will take us.

I love this series and this one was really good! REICHS even had someone binging all the seasons of “Bones”. I love little nods like that.
As the title suggests, these victims have been burned. I enjoyed this one on audio.

3½ ✨

I just flew through this one.
It focus on how Darin and Spiro met, and how Laia became her grandfather's apprentice.
It's not as action packed as the first one, and started off a bit slow.
My book order finally arrived and I'll start A Reaper at the Gate tonight, but in the meantime I needed a quick fix to get me in the right mindset, and this hit the exact right spot.
I'm now super stoked to get on with the series.

Follow up to My Name Is Mary Sutter, about a determined young woman who serves as a doctor during the Civil War. It‘s several years later, and Mary is working in Albany, New York. When a surprise blizzard strikes and two young girls disappear, she doesn‘t rest until they get justice. I don‘t believe there will be a third book, but I‘ll look for others she has written. #serieslove2025

Holmes, Marple, and Poe is about three PI's in NYC. They solve cases using whatever means necessary. They first help solve one case that leads to three more. While the book kept my interest, it was jaw-dropping or thrilling to me. I didn't see much character development by the end of the book, they were still pulling the same kind of crap.

Aims42 I felt the same way, and I have no desire to continue reading the series. Which is such a bummer because the premise sounded soooo good! 22h
RamsFan1963 I like the concept, but I've been burned too many times by Patterson's hack writing, I usually skip books with his name associated with it. 21h

I read Book 2 for book club a couple years ago, so I was happy to circle back to the beginning of the story. I listened to the audiobook version, which was a good production using three main narrator voices and a fourth narrator for the “framework” story.

Meanwhile, two more are actively in progress.

I didn‘t see the twist at the end coming, but it was a great end to the trilogy!

Here‘s my review. The first book is on Litsy but the other 2 books are not so I‘m reviewing all 3 books at once. I completed my first series for #serieslove2025. I want to read this author‘s other books but luckily, her books are on #kindleunlimited so you can read them for free.

A very thoughtful, somber coming of age story. Ged is a talented young wizard, and well aware of it. He saves his village, attends wizard school, outwits a dragon, but also let's his pride get the better of him and unleashes evil into the world.

This one is a classic for a reason - the world and magic system are well realised and I loved to see Ged's character growth. The final confrontation with his shadow is also framed in an interesting way.
