The City We Became | N.K. Jemisin

This was such a unique fantasy story! I'm glad I finally read it and the audio design was amazing. I loved the concept of cities coming to life and enjoyed witnessing the avatars of New York come into their power and figuring out how to wield the magical constructs of their boroughs to fight the baddie. Wonderful mix of world building plot and diverse character driven story.

The Eyre Affair: A Novel | Jasper Fforde

77/100 What an amazing book!! I can't believe it took me so long to read this series, I'm kicking myself. Jasper Fforde never disappoints, his writing is so clever, so witty and just fun to read. It's a crazy idea, being able to enter works of fiction, but he makes it plausible and exciting. I've never read Jane Eyre, but I like the new ending better too 5 🌟 read. #Read2025 #SeriesLove2025

BkClubCare Well, if you need an amazing Jane Eyre experience, please try Thandie Newton‘s narration- SO GOOD! I was intimidated by JE and thought maybe audio would be a good way and I LOVED it! 🥰 2d
RamsFan1963 @BkClubCare I'll keep that in mind if I decide to give Jane Eyre a try. Thank for the recommendation 2d

August #SeriesLove2025 wrap up.

Yay! Got three books read towards series love. Makes me current with Evanovich, one book left to go in The Weetzie Bat series and of course I just had to start a new to me series with Rocky Road.

I blasted through this romance. Great autumn vibes. Brother's best friend and forced proximity, where he's secretly been pining after her for years. The ending was a little rushed but overall it was a fun, sexy read.
Apparently it's the second in a series so I'll definitely go back and read the others #serieslove2025

It's still two weeks away, but I've pre-ordered John Scalzi's new novel, the 7th book in the Old Man's War series. I'm so happy he's returning to this series, it's one of my all time favorites. #SeriesLove2025

Finished this yesterday for #ThematicCozies August #Travel & found it a solid cozy. Set on a upscale European river boat cruise (in this first one it starts in Budapest), where the MC, London Rose has just been named Social Director (sort of the cruise director) & one of the passengers dies on an outing under mysterious circumstances. Overall, I liked London & the mystery wasn‘t bad. I‘d read the next one in the series.

DieAReader 🎉Fantastic!! 6d
julieclair Sounds fun! I‘d love to take a river cruise. @kspenmoll also read one from this series in August and enjoyed it. 5d
