Mehso-so

The problem with essays is you don‘t get much in the way of context and they often feel repetitive. Even Hurston‘s biting wit couldn‘t make me a convert.

Saturday library haul. Essays, graphic memoirs/true crime, mysteries. A nice mix. Just how I like it.

Pogue The Green River book was good. What is American Cult about? 3y
vivastory @Pogue The Green River book looks really interesting. I was completely unaware of American Cult until I found it while browsing. It is a collection of works by over 20 graphic artists/writers about cults & cult leaders spanning from late 17th C Pennsylvania to 21st C NY w/ NXIVM. It looks pretty interesting. 3y
Pogue @vivastory I am going to add that to my list! 3y

merelybookish I have a copy of the Hurston and have dipped into some of the essays. Lots to chew! 3y
vivastory @merelybookish I've yet to read Hurston, but when I saw it on the new release shelves I figured why not. I have a few of her books on my TBR. Looking forward to trying them. 3y
