pickThis came up in conversation today - as a favourite childhood book series of a friend and I hadn‘t heard of it - but found that it was available, for free on the Internet Archive. For a book published in the late 80s - it held up pretty well - with a bunch of girls who reluctantly audition to be part of The Nutcracker - end up becoming fast friends and having a blast! Pizza party included!
