I really enjoyed being back with Elizabeth, Joyce, Ron, and Ibrahim again. The story was interesting, although the murderer seemed kind of lame. The side plot with Ron‘s family was resolved in a satisfactory way. #audiowalk

Rolo and I are enjoying some outside air while I start the latest Thursday Murder Club. He‘s got his Halloween friends and a ghost costume and that will be most of our Halloween celebrating because we don‘t usually get trick or treaters.

Well, of course, I‘m not surprised which book won the tag for this grid. The Thursday Murder Club gang make my heart happy. I thought the casting for the adaptation of Book1 was great, but content to like the books best.
5 ⭐️= Loved It, would recommend to others. A+
4 ⭐️= Liked it, would love to discuss. Solid B
3.5 ⭐️ = Close to either pick or so-so
3 ⭐️= Meh, no need to discuss. Avg C
2 ⭐️=Nope D
1 ⭐️=DNF F

I am clearly going to have to find a jacket — my walk was a bit chilly this evening. To my mind, Stephen was the person who kept Elizabeth connected to humanity; it looks like Joyce is now doing double duty in that regard. #audiowalk

The latest Thursday Murder Club book is my new #audiowalk book. As it opens, Joyce is planning a wedding. Elizabeth, still grieving, decides to go and gets a new case. So far I like it, but I‘m only a few chapters in.
The 5th in Richard Osman‘s THURSDAY MURDER CLUB is a welcome return for Elizabeth, Joyce, Ron and Ibrahim. I particularly enjoyed seeing more of Ron‘s character and his relationship with his children and also Joyce‘s uneasy relationship with Joanna with new son-in-law Paul proving an interesting addition to the cast. However the mystery itself was underpowered and the way Osman pulls the various strands together was a little hand wavy at the end.

Best quote from this book - 'When things are noisy, and everyone is asking you to look at something right this instant, we mustn't forget all the things going on in the quiet corners. There's the news, and then there's life.'

Enjoyed revisiting the Thursday Murder Club - some of my fav characters :)

So lovely to be back in the company of the Thursday Murder Club. Thoroughly enjoyable.
I‘m on holiday in the South Island of New Zealand. The scenery is stunning. Picture is Lake Wanaka (I think 😬)

Another delightful mystery with our lovable characters. They are all reeling from a loss in the previous book, so it is nice how they support each other while solving a big mystery and a side plot. I‘m a big fan of this series! 4.5⭐️

I absolutely adore these characters! There is just something very comforting about them, and they are so well fleshed out. The plot to this 5th episode is well put together, easy to follow, and entertaining. I can't even pick a favorite character. I love them all so much!

Amazing!
Clever, emotional and engaging story, memorable characters and genius writing - another stellar entry to an already incredible series. Highly recommend!

Perhaps not my favorite of the Thursday murder club mysteries, but I liked the way it resolved. The most fun, of course is just getting to spend time with Joyce, Elizabeth, Ron, Ibrahim, and the characters in their world. If this was the last in a series of five books, it‘s a satisfying ending.

I will follow TMC anywhere they want to lead. Is this one as good as The Last Devil to Die? No, but that's a hard act to follow. It is still a great time, and well worth a read. I particularly liked the extra attention given to Ibrahim.
I found the discussions on who is the best James Bond a bit too unnecessarily cheesy for my tastes, but I'm okay to overlook the eyeroll ;)

Finished this one on Thursday, it‘s my first #Roll100 read for October #47 Any Library Book. Being back with the Thursday Murder Club is always a treat. In this one, it‘s been almost a year since the events of the fourth book & the friends are regrouping around a wedding which brings forth a new murder to get involved in. While not the best of the series, I‘ve grown to love these characters so much & Osman keeps the ⬇️

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Not my favorite in the Thursday Murder Series, which is a bummer because the others really all have felt like favorites.
Osman has his excellent prose, the characters have their funny mannerisms & ways of looking at the world, and the mystery is twisty enough to keep me guessing.
So, I‘m not sure what didn‘t hit that same place for me as past books. One I‘d still recommend, but just not my favorite from a really excellent series.

I think the reason I love this series so much is because with each book we go a little deeper with the characters. We see them mature and learn from their new group of friends they‘ve developed in their old age. And the supporting cast of the criminal Connie, police officers Chris & Donna, Bogdan, Joyce‘s daughter Joann, and Ron‘s grandson Kendrick, just keeps getting better. In this one a weeding, bitcoin & a coded safe take stage. Loved it.

There are few things as delightful as a new Osman novel. Was the mystery his best? No - but I don‘t think it mattered a whit because the book was so like a warm hug.
Themes: Octogenarians solving murders, No. 5 in the “Thursday Murder Club” series, Friendship
Giving this one a “soft pick”, it‘s not my fave book from this series, but I still enjoyed it and I‘m going to keep pre-ordering every future book 💸 I had trouble keeping characters straight and then having to remember their connection to the main plot 😵💫 But all in all, a good plot, excellent characters and Book 6 has already been confirmed 🤩

I love this series, but this one was my least favorite. A bit long winded and the mystery didn‘t quite work. The last one had so much depth, so maybe #5 just pales in comparison.

Another fun outing with The Thursday Murder Club 😁

A beautiful early morning walk here at Gladstone‘s Library.
The latest Richard Osman book is another fabulous addition to the Thursday Murder Club series - perhaps not *quite* as good as book number 4 but that one was SO good.

Yay!! So stoked for some upcoming #bookmail 🥳🙌 25% off preorders today through 2/7 at Barnes & Noble (online only!!!)
