What should have been a family celebration of Chinese New Year descends into chaos when longtime foes crash the party in this hilariously entertaining novel by Jesse Q. Sutanto, bestselling author of Dial A for Aunties. After an ultra-romantic honeymoon across Europe, Meddy Chan and her husband Nathan have landed in Jakarta to spend Chinese New Year with her entire extended family. Chinese New Year, already the biggest celebration of the Lunar calendar, gets even more festive when a former beau of Second Aunts shows up at the Chan residence bearing extravagant giftshes determined to rekindle his romance with Second Aunt and the gifts are his way of announcing his courtship. His grand gesture goes awry however, when its discovered that not all the gifts were meant for Second Aunt and the Chansone particular gift was intended for a business rival to cement their alliance and included by accident. Of course the Aunties agree that its only right to return the giftafter all, anyone would forgive an honest mistake, right? But what should have been a simple retrieval turns disastrous and suddenly Meddy and the Aunties are helpless pawns in a decades-long war between Jakartas most powerful business factions. The fighting turns personal, however, when Nathan and the Aunties are endangered and its up to Meddy to come up with a plan to save them all. 3 Stars • The last book in the Aunties trilogy. • The Good, the Bad, and the Aunties by Jesse Q. Sutanto focuses on family, cultural identity, and humor, set against the backdrop of Chinese-Indonesian traditions. During Chinese New Year in Jakarta, Meddy and her family face chaos when an ex of Second Aunt tries to win her back, leading to a dangerous gift mix-up. The family must navigate comedic and risky situations to retrieve the gift.

This is the last installment of the aunties series. It was cute, full of the antics we‘ve come to love. I think book two was my favorite of the three, but they‘re all fun, easy reads.

Meddy & Nathan meet the aunties in Jakarta, hi-jinks ensue. This last of the Aunties‘ books is the same bickering & outlandish ideas, but doesn‘t involve murder. I liked the plot & familiarity with the family. A light read, would be a great beach read.

It‘s a so-so but in a good way - over-acting and full of laughs with those aunties being their lovable auntie selves. And we get to take our armchairs to Jakarta! I won‘t remember this story in a month but I will remember the giggles. I can see an opening for a continued series, but I‘m content at a trilogy.

Ridiculous hijinks but so much fun. Perfect read for the end of the school year.

⭐️⭐️⭐️💫

The first book is definitely the best, but I still enjoyed the conclusion to this trilogy! It was fun to see the characters return to the aunties‘ homeland in Indonesia, and of course, follow the chaos that ensues. The humor and heart of Meddy and her aunties will stick with me!
