Pickpick

This book is what romance novels looked like in the 20s. You'll find no "good parts" here beyond the occasional passionate kiss. The men are alpha, the women are a mix of spunk & traditional femininity. As usual in Emilie Loring, the enjoyment level is marred by the occasional racism & xenophobia. If you can overlook that, this along with her other works are entertaining, especially if you're looking at them for their historical interest.

When reading these older books (this title was published in 1922) you'd best be prepared for racism to rear its ugly head.

And Hopi Soy is not a Chinese name. The author went with soy sauce & a foreign-sounding name that's really a Native American tribe.

Racism is horrible. Shoddy research is adding insult to injury.
