What a fun story this was to read! Lena‘s life was moving right along and hers was not the only one. Many changes were taking place for longtime Blue Lake residents and that was nice. Then there were the mysterious goings-on associated with Plastisource that were actually quite sinister and dangerous for the characters involved as well as their beloved lake. Definitely a mystery a cozy reader could sink their teeth into.

The mystery behind who the killer could be was intriguing. I liked that I was kept guessing as to the killer‘s motivation for murder. I did feel that the killer was quite unhinged and that kept me wondering what was going to take place next. I loved the suspense. Included a sweet friends-to-lovers romance that was very adorable. I enjoyed Jade and Miles as friends and even more as they explored the possibilities between them.

In this story, Peter‘s role was more about detection than wizardry. There were elements of magic used & characters who also dabbled in magic but the way Peter was going to figure out what he wanted to know was by following clues down a rabbit hole & seeing where it led. Not being able to stay at the Folly, Peter had been staying with Bev & in his moments with her he shows his excitement & nervousness about becoming a father, which is endearing!

While I did enjoy parts of the story, the author did choose to sprinkle the text with many clichés and the inclusion of Italian language and phrasing was disjointing without the explanation of what it meant many of the times. Overall, I felt confused more that I would have liked. Luckily, most of the book was focused on cooking and murder which was very entertaining and exactly what I was looking for in a foodie cozy mystery.

This story felt very authentic with the descriptions of old Hollywood, the styles, the people, and activities taking place. I liked how there was a true foreshadowing throughout which would later come to be known as the Hollywood blacklist. The plot was political as well as historical but I also enjoyed the relationships between characters. Then there was a crafty whodunit that kept me on my toes as the suspects were narrowed down one by one.

This story, like real life, had its good times and bad. Love is not all about the ups, it is also about holding fast during the down times and that is what made this a wonderful love story. There was romance but there was also pain and anguish with characters who were flawed but ultimately committed to the love they shared. Such a swoonworthy love story for the ages and I am looking forward to the next book in The Enchantresses series!

The mystery was classic! A group of individuals are on an island where a grisly murder seems to have taken place. Mysteriously, there is no body but plenty of evidence. As the storm rages the fear rises as it becomes clear that there is a killer lurking among them. Once you started peeling back the layers, all the characters on the island seemed to have a motive for murder and I was kept guessing at who was responsible for quite some time.

Both MCs were finding themselves in this story & things became a little hot, a little steamy, & a little messy as their feelings, desires, & hopes kept complicating things between them. What gave me the most enjoyment from reading this story was that it was about two flawed characters who were both deserving of love & happiness but their judgement about what would bring them happiness was off & their road to discovery was rather hilarious & bumpy.

This story picked up where it had left off and I was happy to catch up to what was taking place with Brin and her cohorts. I had not anticipated the journey that they would take nor the setting that they would travel. It was beyond my imagining and it was truly an astounding place to be. The story also follows Suri as she tries to make good on the promise that she made to Arion. I was a little surprised that little time was given to Persephone.

Branwen I love this series so much! 😍 I can't wait for my copy of this book to come in! 😀📚 3w

I loved Fiona‘s tenacity but I‘ll admit she came across a bit naive & there were times that I wanted to know what the heck she was thinking. It was like she didn‘t have the natural instinct for survival. I would‘ve liked her to be a bit more wary, especially since a certain serial killer had taken a keen interest in her. That‘s also what drew me to her as well, her passion for those that she cared for & her unquenchable desire to understand why.

Zara, Zara, Zara, she seems to make a ton of choices for everyone in this story & I wish that there had been more input from the other characters. They‘re all intelligent beings but she seems to have ALL the answers, just wish there was more there. I did love that this story included a heist, that was fun! Another spectacular piece to this story were the alien species included. How utterly creative are these authors??! I loved it all!

Despite my initial feelings on Gideon, Sapphire and him made a great team once they dealt with their differences. Also, the sexual tension that smoldered between them was quite electric. One thing Sapphire was committed to was doing whatever it took to stop the killings taking place. She was passionate about the victims in this story and I could feel how much it mattered to her that she find who was responsible for the heinous crimes taking place.

What I really enjoyed most about reading this story was that Sarah didn‘t argue with the members of Charlotte‘s Angels this time around about every little thing in regards to their sleuthing intentions. Usually she has to be roped or guilted into helping with an investigation but in this case, she was all in from almost the start. Also, I was able to sense that there was a deepening connection between Mac & Sarah and what took place was very cute.

In addition to a fun whodunit, Scarlett was also trying to steer her cousin Vivian onto the road of happiness and contentment. I did mention a mystery, 😃, and what a twisty and turning path this story takes. This was a wonderful cozy mystery that was cute, entertaining, and delightful to read. I would highly recommend it!

The opening scene was disturbing, heartbreaking, and mysterious all at the same time. It also introduced a character who later showed such strength, resilience, and an unwavering commitment to justice. Out of the three MCs, I have to say that D.D. Warren was my favorite in this story. She was not afraid to push for answers when something didn‘t seem right, even when told to leave it alone. I also loved that Agent Quincy had Warren‘s back.

That was a mystery but I loved learning what was taking place in that regard!

I adored getting to know Gemma‘s family, especially her sister Pippa, she was all sorts of mysterious! What really took the cake in this book were the shenanigans that Uncle Arthur was getting into while Gemma was away, talk about hilarious!

Throughout this series Zu has been an enigma wrapped in a prickly layer of keep your distance. It was great getting to know him better but I wish it had gone even a little deeper. It was nice to see returning characters that I have enjoyed from other books but the real winner in this story was Pua, the plucky technical analyst employed by Search and Rescue. She was warm and kind but at the same time ballsy and able to keep her head under pressure.

The mystery behind what was truly taking place in this story took many directions and led to the last place that I expected but that made it very intriguing. Katie as a sleuth was convincing and she really had to work hard to find her clues in this story because she came against a lot of opposition. Something I could have lived without was the relationship drama. In this story it was at a very high level and it was not to my taste.

This was a very intense read, with part of the setting being in Afghanistan, but with the short time spent there I have a better understanding of why Brooke and Asher both have issues with PTSD. For any chance at happiness they had to set all pretenses aside and that gave room for the romance to blossom. Overall, this was a swoony and suspenseful nail biting read that had my heart pumping more than a time or two.

Victoria & Key were great characters who fit together perfectly. Key‘s past was absolutely heartbreaking & it left him with no small number of emotional scars. The push-pull attraction that developed between Cristina & Si was enjoyable to read. I like that the overarching plot with the Ducat matriarch is continuing just as strong & I found myself liking her even less than before. This was such a delightful story of two charming characters who both had their emotional scars from a life that hadn‘t turned out as they had hoped for. This was an engrossing read and Eve Ronin was a character that I couldn‘t get enough of. She was tough, smart, tenacious, and committed to seeing justice done. She was quick enough to see opportunities that were coming her way and use them to her advantage but realistic enough to know that they came with a price but it was a price she was willing to pay. I was drawn into this story because of Kate & her loss from early childhood. I wanted to know if there was more to her dad‘s absence than what she had assumed. What kept me engaged was that there was a nice feeling of suspense as one clue inexorably led to the next and Kate went down a trail where she learned the truth little by little. There were plenty of twists & turns in this story & the deeper the story went, the more fantastical the tale.

There was plenty of push-pull attraction to be felt in this story and with every chapter the sexual tension was increasing. Though, I do wish that more attention had been given to the mystery that was a part of this story. I felt that too great an emphasis was placed on what was developing between Lucien and Hazel and that the crimes that had brought her to London were on the backburner too often.
