Sanderson did it again.
This installment is much slower and less action packed than the previous two, but still ending on a high that leaves me wanting more.

I love stories about the ancient gods and their lives. So this tale about the Gaelic Goddess of Winter sounded right up my alley.
But I found it a little repetitive, and the lack of character growth in the first majority of the book got on my nerves.
The ending did somewhat compensate for the beginning and left me satisfied.

I really liked this one. I may like it better than her other book. 2 cousins grow up in separate countries and face different challenges.

I loved this short novel so much that I bought another of Wolff‘s. Masquerading as a coming-of-age story, it is really about truth and honor and identity. The prose is sublime and the characters so true I had to double check that it was a novel, not a mémoire. #doublespin @TheAromaofBooks

Everything I like in a cozy mystery. Amateur female sleuth, police detective boyfriend, likable supporting characters, small town setting, and a mystery that I can‘t figure out. I‘ll read more of this series. 4⭐️

This audiobook was more background noise for me, while I was doing this and that. The story got more interesting after the 50% mark, so the plot maybe just needed some time to speed up. I for myself would've loved to spend more time with the female characters, because to me they seemed more interesting than Eisenhorn. I'm still curious about what's going to happen to him next.

@CatieWithAC - It took me a bit to start, and then I finished this one. It had a lot of information, which was all very interesting, but I needed maybe more of a slower-paced, one type of poison/spice, more in-depth, instead of a little about a lot? If that makes sense.

This was such a fun fantasy tale!

The strongest part of the book were the two lead characters, Cinna and Hokuren. I absolutely loved their friendship and the found family nature of it. They have both been through a lot and it was so heartwarming to see them act and care for each other like family.
