I got these awesome book socks & the Book Lovers Cookbook from my parents, the gorgeous Pride and Prejudice candles from a friend, & the lovely flowers from my husband! I know that @notesonbookmarks really liked THE PASSENGERS. I read about 40 pages of it, but it was due back at the library last month, and I wasn‘t invested enough to frantically finish it. And then I kind of forgot about it.

Should I re-request it and give it another go...?

RainyDayReading I was in a similar situation. But I got a little further in than you at first (I was getting ready to go to the library to take it back and thought oh let me just see what this was about) and had to know what was going on so I wound up finishing it in one sitting the day it was due back 😅 I enjoyed it, so I would say give it another try. You never know you might like it better the second time around. 2mo

I finished this yesterday, and it is FASCINATING. I coincidentally got the audio and print versions at the same time, thanks to a skip-the-line find at my local library, but I listened to 90% of it, because I just adore Bill Bryson‘s narration.
I‘m not even a science-y person, but Bryson does such a good job of putting complicated things in layman‘s terms, and it makes for really interesting reading! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

It‘s crazy how I‘ve believed incorrectly for 20 years, based on how things were reported in the immediate aftermath. #howjessreadsin2019

Prairiegirl_reading I totally agree. I was telling my husband about the things I thought were true that this book claims are not. Fascinating but deeply disturbing and it made me really mad too. For a lot of reasons. 4mo
Megabooks Such an important book. It nearly broke Cullen to write it, as he says in Parkland. But the activism of the Parkland kids helped rebuild him, which I think is amazing! 4mo
howjessreads Yes! Totally frustrating @Prairiegirl_reading ! And I definitely want to read Parkland now @Megabooks. 4mo
Prairiegirl_reading @Megabooks I can‘t imagine how it would effect someone to be so submerged in this research for such a long time. Just reading the murderer‘s journals would be traumatic. It‘s was deeply disturbing just to read never mind do all the research and then write this. I‘ve got Parkland on my tbr shelf. I‘ll have to get to it soon. 4mo

I‘m sooo sorry I forgot #friyayintro yesterday! I have some friends visiting, and I‘m having fun playing tourist here in #Tucson! 🙂 We have eaten a LOT of delicious Mexican food, and hit all the best touristy spots. I especially love these Woolly Jacket Prickly Pear Cacti at the Desert Museum. There hasn‘t been a ton of reading time, but it‘s been so fun to hang out, and there has been a lot of book talk! My #tbr list is growing, as usual...

Leftcoastzen Those are pretty, need to get back to that museum. 4mo

1. This book is set in Lower Slaughter, which is my favorite Cotswold village!
2. Way cooler than usual!! Only 98, and cloudy.
3. Village Inn. And he “forgot” his wallet. 🙄🙄 (oh college)
4. Kids! 2 girls - ages 9 and almost 6.
5. Here I come! ❤️❤️ #friyayintro

Prairiegirl_reading Whoa! That‘s a bad date! 4mo
Susanita My coworker had a “date” at McDonald‘s and he “forgot” his wallet. But since he‘d also made her drive, she said she had to get her wallet from the car, and she left his ass there. 4mo
Airykah13 @Susanita haaa, excellent! 4mo

The last 2 days were parent-teacher conferences (and thus half-days, much to their delight). But perhaps even more excitingly, it was book fair week! They both had a blast picking out books (they‘ve been doing extra chores the last couple weeks to earn more money).

Naturally, JUST NARWHAL, a very cute book with flippy sequins on the cover HAD to come home with us! 🙂 #raisingreaders #scholasticbookfair

Tamra Love love the book fair! 4mo
