Had this book on my shelf for awhile. Read close to 100 pages then put it down now picking it back up.. I love Kings plots but wish he wouldn't drag it out.. I always get frustrated with him and yell let's just get on with it already. I can't handle useless rambling but I'm also interested in the plot. Slowly but surely I can get thru it even if I read a few books in between

bookaholic1 This was actually one of my favorites 2mo
MoBee @bookaholic1 , I'm struggling I thought I had read 100 but it's only 40 just feels like I've read more.. he just ramblings takes him forever when he could just say it and get to the actual point. I'm going to keep going maybe eventually it will grab me. 2mo

I‘m a big Sinatra Fan, usually not big on biographies but I glad to add this to my collection. My boyfriend gave me two books for Christmas. This one and Edgar All Poe Collection. I can take my time because I doubt I‘ll read this straight thru or use this as a reference. Reviews say it reads more like a novel and it‘s one of the best biographies about him

Alfoster I love him too! (My biggest claim to fame is he sang at my mom‘s prom when he was just starting out)!😍😍😍 11mo

I so wanted to like this book, 80 pages in and it‘s just not working for me. Not a fairytale type of person but it sounded so good but I‘m bored to tears. It‘s probably a good book to many but not for me. I didn‘t like the writing style, the characters, or the plot.

shaynarae So many people love this book, but even as a fairy tale person myself, I didn‘t care for it. It didn‘t get any better after 80 pages, IMO, so you‘re not missing anything. 12mo
MoBee @shaynarae oh good then, I was afraid maybe I was giving up to soon, started to bail at page 50 then thought I should give it more time but now at page 80 I‘m still not into it 12mo

Took my 4 days and only finish chapter 4.. Could not force myself to start the next chapter.. I really don‘t like her style and after 2 books think Not only bailing on the book but on this author as well.. Horrible Character Development and I‘m very picky about that I want to feel the characters and they are all seem so flat to me.. Her book covers do seem to have interesting covers that attract me wished her writing could as well

shellleigh33 Oh no I am sad to hear this. I just bought this book at the used book store. 1y
rachelk Totally agree, and it never got any better. 1y

LisaJo I will tell you that the opening scene where she‘s in her room and the guy comes into our house kind of scared me. Why? Because I was reading this on my Kindle with the lights out in my bedroom after dark. I did have to go turn on some lights after that. 1y
Redwritinghood I‘m not a fan of her books, either. After reading the first two mediocre books and bailing on her third, I decided I‘m done, too. No more Ruth Ware for me. 1y

Heading into this with low expectations. Earlier this year I read her book In the Dark Dark Wood and I found it horrible. Unfortunately I bought both at the same time. If this one isn‘t any better I‘ll never read her again I don‘t think. But everyone deserves a second chances so here it goes.

Reviewsbylola I liked the setting of this one but overall wasn‘t impressed with her after reading this and Wood. But I will say I thought her new book was much better. I had written her off and then my book club chose her newest book. 🤣 1y
benchley1 I liked this one and woods, hated the lying game. You never can tell! 1y
MoBee @Reviewsbylola which one was that .. The Lying Game or the other one 1y

MoBee @benchley1 trying to keep an open mind.. In the Dark Dark wood was just too predictable too childish for me and if I had to read the saying Hen Party one more time I was going to scream lol 1y
benchley1 @MoBee I figured out what happened in all of them, they are rather like a Lifetime movie, but I love a Lifetime movie 1y
Reviewsbylola Yes, The Lying Game! 1y
GloVerdino I didn't like in a dark dark wood either, but I also decided to give her another try and have both the woman in cabin 10 and the lying game - I haven't read them yet though (edited) 1y

I really enjoyed their story and the story of their families, coaches, and boat designer. I didn‘t not enjoy the overly used details of rowing and started skipping over parts till the plot returned back to them.. Stuck somewhere between a Pick and a So-So Book, I‘ve decided it‘s definitely a pick because I fell in Love with These Boys and I‘m so glad their story lives on.. If this is ever made into a movie I would definitely have to go watch it

Reviewsbylola I felt the same way by the end. I was totally invested in the team. It was a very dense read though and I‘m not that interested in rowing. 1y
MoBee @Reviewsbylola Me either but now I at least have a respect for the sport, much harder and more complicated than I would‘ve thought but I fell for everyone one of those boys.. Love Joe and Joyce‘s love story as well 1y

Really thought the beginning and the end was nicely done.. The middle bored me and I literally fell asleep a few times and was beginning to lose interest. But overall glad I read it because it is different than what I usually read. I only have it 3 stars on Good reads.. I wanted more Witchcraft from the Greek Goddess of Witches.

tracey38 There were some slower moments in the middle, I agree. But overall I enjoyed this one. It was also a different read for me as I haven't read a lot of mythology. 1y

Enjoy this book much more than I thought I would.. Likeable and realistic characters, Italian Recipes without the book. Parts were predictable but there were a few twists I didn't see coming. A few "cheesy" lines but romance can be at times. Good book for the start of summer. Related to the main character because we both have had to put off parts of our life to care for a family member. Loved her and loved her friends and family

Bostonmomx2 I‘ve yet to read one of hers I didn‘t love. 1y
