Soft pick for this one. Finished on my way back home from vacation. A slow build (almost too slow) but some fun twists but unlikeable characters which really didn‘t help my buy in on the resolution. A good vacation read, but won‘t stick with me. This was a #bookspin for September (maybe #doublespin, I can‘t remember)
This was a cute romance with all the fall vibes!
This book checked off every box when it came to everything fall related: apple cider donuts, Gilmore Girls, a corn maze, and even a dog named Pumpkin! It also had all the cozy small town vibes with the mom and pop shops. The inn was adorable and so was Aiden‘s house.

I found this, while full of information, to be dated both in ways of identifying other cultures and in cooking methods. It‘s from 1962 and boiling for hours is his preferred cooking method! I‘m glad I read it, but I think I need photographs and maybe a mentor before I get into foraging. #bookspin @TheAromaofBooks
This is a strange little book that‘s quite hard to describe. The first part is about the many people who swim regularly at an underground pool. I almost quit here, as I don‘t love the first person plural. But I stuck with it because it is short, and liked the second half much more. It‘s about Alice, one of the swimmers, who develops dementia.
The writing is unique and someone else said it feels distant, I have to agree.

This was really excellent. Super harrowing & incredibly well executed idea. Highly recommended.
Graudin imagines a world where the Axis powers won WWII and continued expanding territory. Yael, survivor of concentration camp medical experiments, has a unique opportunity to serve the resistance by racing in the Axis Tour, a motorcycle race from Germany to Japan, the victor of which will meet Hitler himself. Action packed, filled with moral quandaries and a near romance, this is excellent alternate history. Getting right into #2 in the duology!
6 months later, I have finished April's #Bookspin🤦♀️. This is the 2nd book I have tandem-read with my husband, but it will be the last chunkster we read together. The infrequently with which he is willing to sit down and read with me dragged this one out way too long. We'll be sticking with short ones from now on 😂. I enjoy Erik Larson's books, but this one was a bit drawn out for me. Too much minutiae, but still a solid pick. @TheAromaofBooks
