The closer one gets to the end of a book, the more difficult it becomes to put it down and go to sleep. This is particularly true of this book, as charming and lovely an alien story as E.T. but with more Adult Content.

It begins with the Richardson's perfect suburban dream home burning to the ground, then jumps back to follow, in poignant detail, how this came to happen. In which the most sympathetic characters may have a hidden darkness and the prickliest are revealed to have meant well all along. Celeste Ng provides a rich, nuanced study of an upper class family who are forever changed by their relationships with a nomadic artist and her sagacious daughter
Finally getting around to reading the Eve Dallas series, though I've been a fan of Nora Roberts/J.D. Robb/Jayne Castle for years. I'm liking them so far and they're pretty quick reads. 😃
