pickThis book started off with spice and I wasn't sure if I would like it due to the spicyness. I loved Ash and his brothers (all demons from Hell) and Eva. Ash falls for Eva as she is a musician and she can see him through a curse that makes him ugly. The romance between Ash & Eva is also wonderful & surprisingly (given how unfeeling demons are supposed to be in this world) heartfelt & emotional.
This book was fun, spicy and enjoyable.
Book 22.
pickThis is a novel set in the Civil War and shortly thereafter. Louella is a slave who has been freed and married to the honorable Reverend William. She wants to lead the people off the plantation and have a place where everyone is treated equally and respectfully. This is their journey to outside of Asheville, NC to a place that they call the Kingdom of Happy Land. This story is based off a true story.

pickAll You Need Is Macchiato is a sweet, clean, romance. Kathryn is part of the Coffee Loft going to Elk Ridge to turn the local store around. She meets grumpy mountain man, Nolan. I loved their banter in the beginning, their trust issues and how this story was interwoven into a part of another coffee loft book with ties to Wilmington, NC and a wishing wall.
This story made me tear up several times with the wishes & the wishing wall. Book 16.
I‘m thrilled to be a part of the @nchumanities North Carolina reads program. This is my second year as I loved last year so much! I love reading books either set in North Carolina or by North Carolina authors.

pickThis fantasy book is filled with Finnish folklore, gods and magical creatures. The story of Siiri and Aina told in two POVs stories is filled with breathtaking imagery and beautiful writing. It is a slow burn but so worth staying with the story. Siiri and Aina take us on a journey of sacrifice, bravery, love, friendship, and loyalty.
I look forward to the second book in this duology.

pickThis book is in the new series of the Coffee Loft books which has mountain men in them. Luke and Kaylee are so sweet together even given Kaylee's accident prone nature. I loved all the coffee puns and the setting which is in the Rocky Mountain National Park. Another winner in this series!

pickTime travel, magic, friendship, and an ending that wraps it all up nicely. This is a slow burn for the first 50 pages but then the story picks up. I loved it more than I thought I would and the story was beautifully written.

pickA fantastic retelling of Sleeping Beauty. A reverse where the princess is evil and the fairy is good. I love T. Kingfisher‘s books and this novella didn‘t disappoint.

Dollar tree cookbooks. I am always looking for new recipes especially vegetarian ones so when I saw these cookbooks and one is plant based. Besides, who doesn‘t love $1.25 cookbooks and these were all rated at least 4.5 stars on Amazon.

It is a delightfully sweet age gap, insta-love, romance with the two main characters of Arielle and Stallone newly broken up from previous relationships. I loved the banter between the two and the sweetness in Stallone when it came to Arielle. Thank you, JP Sterling for another winner in the series and you will fall in love with these MCs.

My Goodreads year in review.
Final book of 2024. Book 260.
The third in the series is set in Redwood Grove in northern California. Ellie Alexander creates such wonderful towns with great characters. I'm really enjoying getting to know the characters more in each story and seeing their development as people. Great series and can't wait for more books!

My BN #bookhaul sale books. I have had these cookbooks on my wish list so when I saw that hardbacks were 1/3 off and I had gift cards, I went to BN and grabbed them.
My one friend gave this blanket and tote for Christmas.
We didn‘t do a lot of presents this year as we adopted two families. We decided to only do stockings and we had a limit of $50. However, my sons surprised me this morning with a bag of books, bookmarks and mugs! They said that some of the books came from a used bookstore and everything else was on sale.
