Last night, I saw Grady Hendrix on his βHow to sell a haunted houseβ book tour.
He is so amazing and I was the last one in line hence I am the final girl!
A story of a young girl who navigates the frailties of life amid heartbreak in a world that is pushed the brink of disaster, all while finding love, renewing hope, and learning that you can trust yourself and find your way again. Book 10/100.

Although I wasn‘t enjoying The Sentence I persevered with it for a long time because I like the way Erdrich writes and the themes she engages with. But the plot in this novel takes ages to get anywhere, and there is too much banter and circumstantial detail, including the contents of meals and passing exchanges with bookshop customers. Maybe it‘s intended as a character study of the narrator Tookie, and I just didn‘t find Tookie that interesting.
I love how descriptive the author was in setting up different scenes, you could really visually the story. A slow burn and parts were thrilling but still left unanswered questions at the end.
A cute novella. Book 6/100 of the year.
Sugar & Spice bath bomb, frosted sugar cookie craft beer and a hot bath.
No annual girl‘s weekend to the Savannah Book Festival this year as the hotel rates are too high. However, I came up with a solution. A girl‘s weekend to the @obx and visiting bookstores there along with a weekend of books , bookish crafts, great food and friends! I can‘t wait to return to the beach!
All My Rage by Sabaa Tahir is a beautiful and meaningful story about Salahudin and Noor. They are young high school students who are facing unthinkable circumstances. Though they often make the wrong choices, they must always deal with the consequences. They are sympathetic characters who captured my heart & had me rooting for them. This is a novel that teaches empathy & understanding with being a bit difficult to read at first but well worth it.
Paris Daillencourt is About to Crumble by Alexis Hall is a Queer Contemporary that focuses on anxiety and the impact it can have on a person's relationship with themselves and those close to them. I absolutely adored the MC/Narrator , Paris Daillencourt. While this is the second book in the Winner Bakes All series it can be fully read as a stand alone. This is not a romcom so don't go in expecting a romance heavy story. Book 4/100.
Reading Mad Honey was a learning experience and I'm glad I went on the journey. The characters are well-developed, the dialog is good, and the plot held my interest. I've read some criticisms of the use of different speakers and the way the speakers go backwards and forwards in time. It's hard to see how anyone could read this book and not come away with more empathy for people's lives that you may not understand. Book 3/100 of the year.
Great fun to read. Absolute joy. A real gem if you like cozy mysteries and enjoy baking! Well thought out and I can highly recommend it. Likeable characters and a charming setting. Leaves you wanting to read more. This is my second time reading it for a challenge.
My first book of 2023. This cute rom-com is a must read for fans of The Great British Baking Show. I loved the banter between the two main characters, Jack and Meg. I also enjoyed how their stories meshed well. I throughly enjoyed this book and would highly recommend.
