(Day 27 - #YouGiveMeSomething)

*If it‘s the 14th century, perhaps you give me the plague, better known back then as “Black Death.” Giovanni Boccaccio wrote these (100) novellas just after the epidemic. “The Decameron” is a frame story filled with tales told by a group of young people who take shelter outside of the city (Florence) in order to avoid contracting the disease. I‘m sure most of you read it for some class or other. 😊

Cinfhen I think I was assigned this at one point but im pretty sure I never read it 😂 5y
RohitSawant Added this to my TBR years ago, and I have a feeling it'll stay there for quite some time 😆 5y
gradcat @Cinfhen @rohit-sawant They‘re not bad stories, but sometimes (read now), one wants to read contemporary language! 😂 5y

To have compassion for those who suffer is a human quality which everyone should possess, especially those who have required comfort themselves in the past and have managed to find it in others.

The_Literary_Jedi 💚The Decameron, brings back so many undergrad memories 😌 yay 8y
