Books that I look forward to read this year. My target this year is 50 books. There are 26 books here so lots of wiggle room 🤓 #readinglist2021

Oh! The struggles of a polygamist reader. Some I‘ve started reading a few months ago, one was a couple of days ago and one was a couple of hours ago . But I am determine to finish all of them this year. Is there a gene therapy for this condition? 🤔

#klbacphotochallenge Day 7
Let‘s end the challenge with a bang and a little shelfie. I love reading about authors and these are picture books about authors in front of my adult books about authors. I can‘t stress enough how delightful and enjoyable it is to read nonfictions in picture book format. These books are suitable for kids who can read on their own but don‘t let that stop you from enjoying them yourself. #readersofmalaysia

Disclaimer: apologies to Satoshi Kitamura. I couldn‘t find this book on Litsy database.
#klbacphotochallenge Day 6
As much as I love children‘s books I disliked ‘educational‘ kids books like alphabets, counting etc. why do you want to bore your child (and yourself) with A for Apple or 1 apple, 2 apples when you can help this little sheep who cannot sleep and learn how to count? So do yourself a favor and get these 2-in-1 books😉#readersofmalaysia

Blueberries for Sal | Robert McCloskey

#klbacphotochallenge Day 5
So far I‘ve shared colourful picture books. This time around I‘m sharing a charming picture book filled with monochrome illustrations. Sal went blueberry picking with her mother and was so busy picking (and eating) blueberries she didn‘t realize her surroundings. Of course, a little confusion ensued but no worries, everything turned out fine but not before the reader gets a little amusement 😄. #readersofmalaysia

Marcel the Shell with Shoes on: Things about Me | Jenny Slate, Dean Fleischer-Camp
post image
Pickpick

#klbacphotochallenge Day 4
Marcel the Shell started as a short film first shown at various film festivals and garnered millions of views on Youtube. Marcel is weird, funny and totally adorable. But most importantly, he knows who he is. He shares things about himself like his home, his favorite activity and a regret that he has with his unique sense of humor. It is a simple story but it celebrates individuality #readersofmalaysia

#klbacphotochallenge Day 3: Chocolate The Bean that Conquered the World
I like to learn stuff from books. But time is scarce so I usually opt for children books to learn something quick. It‘s not like I‘m going to write an academic essay on chocolate anyway😊. So this is a good and quick option to gain some general knowledge. #readersofmalaysia

My ‘prescribed‘ reading for 2018
These are the titles that I‘m planning to discuss in my book club #KLBAC this year plus one ebook and one self-prescribed title (The Gene. No discussion session planned but I feel I should read this book this year). Looks menacing right? Luckily I‘ve read 2 and finished 2 audiobooks (one of them not shown because I don‘t have the physical copy). Really hope I get to finish them in time. #readersofmalaysia

Wild about Books | Judy Sierra, Marc Tolon Brown

#klbacphotochallenge Day 2
the only thing better than books are books about books 😊. This picture book combines the wonders of reading while introducing wildlife and many interesting titles that we should read next, all in rhymes. In it we meet the tree kangaroo who adored Nancy Drew and the scorpion who gives stinging reviews to aspiring haiku writers. Read till the end to see who won the Zoolitzer Prize in this Zoobrary 😉

#klbacphotochallenge #readersofmalaysia Day 1
This is my ultimate Dr Seuss favorite. With just 917 words he sums up the ups and downs of life perfectly. I know of this book for quite some time but only felt the urge to read it after watching Ryan Gosling reading an excerpt in the movie Fracture. He read from the “waiting” page and I guess it touched my heart because I hate waiting 😊. This is a MUST read for everyone, young and old.

Love Frankenstein, loved this book. Great illustrations by Angela Barrett with stories of what influenced Mary Shelley to come up with Frankenstein. #2017lastread

My FB book club (KL Book Appreciation Club) is doing a 7-day photo challenge where we share a book a day for the first seven days of 2018. My theme is my favorite picture books that I have in my collection (because I have more favorites that are not in my possession 😉). Here are the candidates. Follow #klbacphotochallenge on Litsy and FB to see my picks and what other members in my club pick.
