The authors Portuguese Irregular Verb series is my favourite of all his books. Complete ridiculous comedy as you follow Professor Doctor von Inglfeld through his ridiculous experiences. He is completely based on book smarts without any common sense. Such as believing he can become an expert at tennis by reading a book, and how to care for his sausage dog. I found the books charming and funny.
