The Death of a Beekeeper | 
I asked my mother for one of her favorite books that wasn't a "classic." She gave me The Death of a Beekeeper. I started it today and while it isn't uplifting or what one would call "enjoyable," it is incredible for its depth and how well it is written. I am half through and will probably finish it. I want to savor it though too.
