From Reverence to Rape: The Treatment of Women in the Movies | 
pickGood. Even though at times it felt like all the author was doing was listing all the movies a woman could have been in from the dawn of Hollywood when it did get into the meaning behind them and what it means to be a woman in Hollywood it was really good.

Birdsong28 Interesting addition to the study of women in Hollywood but it is of its time as this was published in 1987 and it doesn't carry well into today. There is a third edition published in 2016 which might add something more but I don't think it will have changed that much. 4y
