I am really enjoying this semi-autobiographical graphic series (even if I am reading them out of order). This one is set just before Paul Up North, which I read first, in Quebec during the early to mid-1970s. It covers macro issues (the FLQ hostage crisis and French separatism) while nailing the ups and downs of being a tween boy. There is an unexpected twist right at the end that was a visceral gut punch that alone is worth reading the book for.
