Selfish persons are incapable of loving others, but they are not capable of loving themselves either.
There is perhaps no phenomenon which contains so much destructive feeling as 'moral indignation,' which permits envy or hate to be acted out under the guise of virtue.
I cannot help but think of something I read from Descartes in the 90‘s about how freedom diminishes as we grow wiser. #philosophy
