Great storytelling about a young girl and her relationship with her father , her friends. Navigating those pre-teen years in New Zealand. Then, a beautiful teacher that everyone falls in love with. Suspenseful, a page turner for me with quality writing.
I‘m looking up more by Catherine Chidgey now. Lovely writer to discover here on Litsy. 🙏

Lesliereadsalot Loved this book too! 7d

Tamra Can‘t wait! 😄 6d
Cathythoughts @Lesliereadsalot And there are funny suspenseful bits too. Like when she is swanning around in front of the mirror in Mrs Prices bedroom, in Mrs Prices underwear.. saying ‘ Now People , who‘s like some ice chips … ‘ I thought that was tense , but funny. 6d
Cathythoughts @Tamra Looking forward to your thoughts 👍🏻 6d
Ruthiella I found this one to be so tense, I had to skip to the end, find out how the chips lay, and then I went back and read the middle. 😬 6d
Lesliereadsalot Yes! Humor really adds to the believability of the story. 6d
marleed I‘m intrigued! 6d
squirrelbrain Such a great book! ❤️ 6d

LeahBergen Lovely photo! I have this one waiting on my shelves. 6d
jlhammar One of my favorites so far this year! Chidgey's Remote Sympathy is quite different, but also very good. 6d
Cathythoughts @BarbaraBB She‘s very good. 6d
Cathythoughts @jlhammar Yes. Me too. Thanks , I‘ll look up Remote Sympathy ❤️ 6d
Cathythoughts @LeahBergen I imagine you will really like this one 👍🏻❤️ 6d
Cathythoughts @Ruthiella I know , the tension was constant 😳 4d
TrishB I didn‘t enjoy her other one but people have said they‘re very different so I may give this a go! 2d
Cathythoughts @TrishB Is the other one Remote Sympathy? I‘ve just got that one .. this one is very good imo 2d

My Husband: A Novel | Maud Ventura
post image

I enjoyed this one , a woman obsessed with her husband. Well written in a suspenseful way. But , the ending was terrible! It kind of ruined the book for me. Still, I look forward to more by Maud Ventura.

batsy Intriguing review especially about the ending 😁 I have it on my list. 2w
Cathythoughts @batsy I look forward to your thoughts, when you get there 😘 2w
Cathythoughts @batsy I know , I love when there are intense comments about a books ending … if I am enjoying it at all , I have to read on to see what I make of the ending 😁 2w

Cathythoughts @erzascarletbookgasm It‘s a good read. Thankyou ❤️ I hope you are well too Jessie ❤️ 2w
batsy @Cathythoughts Yes! Sometimes negative reviews or pans are so interesting in that way, too. Makes me want to read the book 😆 2w
BarbaraBB I didn‘t see that ending coming! 2w
Cathythoughts @BarbaraBB I know ! What a way for the book to end. I see your review on it. I have the same boots 😆 I love the way you‘ve styled yours. 👌🏻 2w
Lesliereadsalot I definitely did not see that ending coming! 2w
BarbaraBB @Cathythoughts Thank you 😊, what a coincidence we‘ve got them both! They‘re perfect for winter days right?! 2w
Cathythoughts @BarbaraBB They are perfect , and fun. 👍🏻 2w
Cathythoughts @Lesliereadsalot Me neither … not a clue. I imagined all kinds of endings, but not that 👍🏻😁 2w
Tamra I agree about having to plow through a book to find out how it ends! 😆 Endings are just downright difficult. 1w
TrishB Sounds intriguing! 1w
Megabooks I enjoyed this ending and did see it coming. Interesting to read all these different reactions! 1w
Cathythoughts @Tamra I agree ! Endings are indeed difficult ❤️ 1w
Cathythoughts @TrishB It was good … I was hanging in for ‘ the ending ‘ 🙄 it didn‘t impress me 😂 So , sometimes I get obsessed with the reviews and seeing for myself… all part of it ❤️👍🏻 1w
Cathythoughts @Megabooks So interesting that you saw it coming ! I really did not… But I look back now and see the whole book in a different way. Love this about book discussions. 1w
LeahBergen I‘ve had this one stacked for a while. I‘ll have to let you know if I liked the ending any better than you did! 😆 1w
Cathythoughts @LeahBergen Yes! I‘ll be dying to know what you think of it. 👍🏻❤️ 1w

Still Missing | Beth Gutcheon
post image

Now , it‘s a dark and difficult book to read. The disappearance of a young child. It reads like a true crime book, suspenseful and brilliantly written. Character development is excellent. The far reaching effects of the missing boy and the psychological trauma is so well done. I loved this book. I‘d love to read more by Beth Gutcheon. Look forward to discussing it all , and the ending. Great book ! #PersephoneClub

Tamra Me too! 😊 3w
Becker Nice artistic touch to your photo. I have that book on my shelf. Maybe it‘s time to pull it out. 3w

Cathythoughts @Becker Oh do ! Pull it out now 😁. 3w
Cathythoughts @Tamra Should be interesting 👍🏻❤️ 3w
LeahBergen That ending! I was so surprised! 2w
Cathythoughts @LeahBergen I know ! Me too. And they can‘t contact her , And then when she comes upon the scene outside her house and she says this should be the most simple moment of her life.. and the dog running over to him. What an ending ❤️ I loved the ending. 2w
Caryl I loved that the ending was told from the perspective of Detective Menetti, and then switched to Susan in the last pages. I needed Alex to be found and to come home to his mom. That reunion was so beautiful and sad. 1w
Cathythoughts @Caryl I agree, Im glad we got to experience Menetti‘s feelings in the ending , and that his son was there too, that brought another dimension to it all. 1w

I finally got around to reading this one , Leah. I loved the beginning and the wild drama of the ending. What a tale! Poor Janet. A rich and dense book that I will read again. Set in Edinburgh, bringing up memories of older times. Thank you @LeahBergen ♥️

LeahBergen I‘m so glad you liked, too, Cathy! What did the rest of your bookclub think? Did anyone hate it? 😆 1mo
LeahBergen @erzascarletbookgasm @batsy Haha! This is one of those books I‘ve bought for numerous friends (along with I Capture the Castle and Fingersmith). 👍 1mo
Cathythoughts @LeahBergen It sparked a LOT of discussion! The woman who recommended it , well she loved it. She had reams of notes and talked at length with great excitement and fervour about it. You could tell she absolutely adored it. We all did like it , to an extent. We score out of 10. We had a 9 , 8 , some 7‘s , and a 6. Ok scores. We have a couple of Scottish gals , so they brought memories and feelings. Great discussion , looking at mothering and 👇🏻 1mo
Cathythoughts 👆🏻At our feelings about Janet. Some loved her and felt sad for her. Others were irritated by her. So , all in all , a great Bookclub ❤️ @LeahBergen (edited) 1mo
LeahBergen I love when a book gets this sort of response at my own bookclub! It makes for such a fascinating evening. Thanks for the update. 😘 1mo
Cathythoughts @LeahBergen Thanks for the book 😘 1mo

Every Man for Himself | Beryl Bainbridge
post image

Morgan , a gorgeous young man of 22, is the MC in this story of the Titanic‘s maiden journey. I loved him ! Beautiful, rich writing, Beryl Bainbrdge created distinctive and memorable characters in this short novel, and some funny scenes. But Morgan won my heart, and his mother too. I must read more of her books !

CarolynM I really liked the movie, so I‘ve always wanted to read this one 2mo
batsy Sounds lovely. I have a Bainbridge book or two on my shelves and must get to it one day. 2mo

We Run the Tides | Vendela Vida

I thought the mc and her best friend were well drawn characters. I enjoyed the epilogue, it‘s interesting how we look back on friendships in our lives and often see them differently and more clearly. I think of Bob Dylan‘s line
‘Ain‘t it hard when you discover that he really wasn‘t where it‘s at .. ‘
The good writing kept me going until the end , but I felt disconnected from the book. A pick/so-so.

lauraisntwilder Disconnected is a good word for this one. I really enjoyed it, when I read it a couple years ago, but I almost felt like a voyeur. Their lives and mine were so drastically dissimilar. 2mo
Tamra This sounds thought provoking. At least for me, it came as a surprise to discover in adulthood most friendships have seasons. So different than childhood perceptions & expectations. 2mo
BarbaraBB Great review though. I think I felt similar about 2mo
See All 6 Comments
Cathythoughts @lauraisntwilder Yes I really enjoyed it too.. I could identify with being young and all the over thinking and uncertainty of that time. The disconnect was more that I never felt close to the characters at all. Interesting to hear your thoughts 👍🏻 2mo
Cathythoughts @Tamra I know , me too. I suppose we change and our friends change too in different ways … Sometimes we have to let friends go ( that came as a shocker for me I remember) friendships end. But some stand the test of time. Seasons ! As you so wisely say 👍🏻❤️ (edited) 2mo
Cathythoughts @BarbaraBB Interesting! During the first half of the book I thought I‘d be looking up her other books… now I‘m not sure. We‘ll see. I was glad to finish it. 2mo

The fire is lit; sherry poured; claws are being sharpened. In a seaside cottage perched on a cliff, one family reunites for Christmas.

The Guest: A Novel | Emma Cline
post image

First book finished this New Year. We only know Alex in her present life … She loves the water and swimming. She is in summer , on Long Island. Her past life can only have been madness, as is her present. She tested my patience and my understanding. But , it wasn‘t so much the mc or the story , it was the writing , how she told it , suspenseful insightful writing , I will read Emma Cline‘s The Girls now, and I will look out for her future books.

Vaster Wilds | Lauren Groff

Wonderful book. Set in 1700‘s , one can identify with this girls struggle through her life , she is fleeing oppression, she has her hopes and dreams. There is immersion in the world at ground level, sensing it , finding home, finding meaning in the soil the stones. Everything is alive…the girl, the trees, the birds, the pulsing earth. I love Lauren Geoff‘s writing.

I‘m going to take a break from Litsy for awhile.

Another beaut from Celia Fremlin , complete with creepy dolls. Clare Erskines daughter Sarah is engaged to an accountant, Mother is very pleased, at last a solid , respectable lad, or is he ? And is his possessive mother pleased?! Taking an interesting look at mothers influences over their children. Couldn‘t put this down.

Kala: A Novel | Colin Walsh
post image

Loving Kala , the characters growing up..grown up. We move back and forth through their lives. This thriller , this crime book, I could quote so much of it. I‘ll quote one character whose life is kind of ‘ perfect ‘ now , and yet he is lonely

‘ Lonely for the warmth of human imperfection‘

The humanity , characters voices intermingle , fused , their desire to be one , the gang, at times I have to backtrack unsure who is speaking
Excellent book

I enjoyed Miracle Creek by Angie Kim.. and I really enjoyed this new book of hers too. Set during covid ( something that didn‘t appeal to me before reading ) But done in a natural , intelligent way. It worked very well with images and layers of meaning around the idea of masks and isolation. An absolute page turner for me, I sank into the lives of this amazing family, whose son Eugene has autism and angel syndrome. A great mystery story.

Tamra Ohhh, will check out! 😁 5mo

I‘m agreeing with all the other #FurrowedMiddlebrowClub reviews. I enjoyed it ! Yes , the whole Scooby-Doo adventure @batsy 😂. I agree with some it was a bit slow to start , but the start was my favourite part. For a scooby- do , it caused a bit of uneasiness. I love the title of this book , it feels like the cosy blanket covering this cosy mystery with warmth and kindness.

Cathythoughts @LeahBergen Yes the first part was lovely before all the drama started 👍🏻❤️ 5mo
Cathythoughts @willaful I know !! And I love a full blown thriller , but this was such a cosy read and I wanted to warn these lovely people 5mo

I couldn‘t get a copy of the book. So , kindle it is.
I was very excited as I started this book .. ‘ Thriller of the Year‘ and so it began. I thought it was good , just not what I expected. It turned out differently, more of a thoughtful book. I loved the Scottish island, the weather, the people. A deep reflection on Tommys tragic life. I did enjoy it. I just wanted ( expected ) to be more scared 🙈. A pick 👍🏻 #EuropaCollective

Tamra I‘m happy to see you posting! 😍 Thanks for the heads-up - I won‘t expect it to be a thriller in the scary sense. 6mo
Cathythoughts @Tamra Thanks X if you‘re not expecting it , it may be very different X 6mo

mcctrish Thx for the reminder 🤦🏻‍♀️ 6mo
Cathythoughts @mcctrish I know the feeling 😁 we take a lot on sometimes X 6mo
squirrelbrain Great review - I don‘t think I was expecting a thriller but I haven‘t even read the blurb again since we nominated it. I‘m reading it next week. 6mo
Cathythoughts @squirrelbrain I imagine you‘ll enjoy it. It‘s a good book. ♥️ 6mo
jlhammar Fantastic review! Yes, I‘m finding it much quieter, much more reflective (and heartbreaking) than expected. I‘m nearly halfway through and really enjoying it so far. Some great writing. 6mo
julieclair I love thoughtful books and great writing. Haven‘t started this one yet, but I expect I‘ll love it. 6mo
Cathythoughts @jlhammar Yes, the writing is great. So readable. ❤️ 6mo
Cathythoughts @julieclair Oh good. I‘m sure you‘ll enjoy it ❤️ 6mo
BarbaraBB I wasn‘t expecting as much of a thriller as you did, so wasn‘t disappointed with the lack of excitement. I loved the quietness of the book 🤍 6mo
Tamra The blurb definitely makes it sound like it‘s going to be more of a traditional thriller. It‘s more of an emotional thriller and a bit of an unresolved one at that since Tom‘s memory is questionable. 6mo
Cathythoughts @Tamra Very good point about Tom. Strange ending … strange book, but I enjoyed it. 6mo

‘What scars of the heart, what hidden wounds of the mind, do not the dreams of even those who feel that their lives have run to a placid and conventional measure, reveal ! ‘

What a beautiful wild story of old age. I feel the years catching up with me, so I was a little afraid of this book at first… but I loved it. I loved the dynamic of the women in the house , fascinating and heart wrenching. #PersephoneClub I think we have another winner here !

TrishB Great review Cathy 👍🏻 7mo
Cathythoughts I loved Dr Fairfax too. When Claire was dying he made a note to send some flowers to Mrs Temple. There were so few friends left to perform this last offering from the living to the dying. ❤️💔 7mo

This is a healing book. And the water ! I‘ve always been lucky to live
near water, and we come from water, so many beautiful layers of life to find here. One of my favourite songs has always been Randy Newmans song - In Germany before the war

Im looking at the river but I‘m thinking of the sea …a little girl has lost her way, with hair of gold and eyes of grey

I loved the water veined landscape of Kerala I loved the surgeries.I loved it all

I finished Demon Copperhead. I can‘t say too much as it‘s for IRL Bookclub
Mum‘s the word till Bookclub. I will say it‘s intense and a pick 👍🏻 Spoiler below

I picked up these 2 books yesterday before lunch. The tagged book because it‘s on Barack Obama‘s summer reading list , Thankyou @TheBookHippie for sharing that 👍🏻
So I started Hello B last night.
Memoriam is a Litsy recommendation

Happy Reading All !
Hi Cindy ❤️

Cinfhen Such wonderful picks, Cathy! And so glad you loved Demon! It‘s an undertaking but so rewarding 7mo
Cathythoughts @Cinfhen I thought Demon was brilliant! I‘m exhausted from it , such an intense book. So much to think about. That first attraction to Dori in the shop , when he didn‘t even know her. That strong power and pull of the unconscious, and then Dori so like his Mom, and history repeating itself. I can‘t wait for our Bookclub discussion. Yes, I agree , so rewarding to read. 7mo

TrishB I hope you love Memoriam 🤞🏻 7mo
Cathythoughts @TrishB Thanks Trish, and thanks for putting Memoriam on my radar 👍🏻❤️ 7mo
Lesliereadsalot Wasn‘t crazy about this book. Dear Edward was better, but the Apple TV series of it was meh. 7mo
Cathythoughts @Lesliereadsalot Oh dear. Barack‘s list gave me the nudge. ( he‘s in trouble now 😆) I thought the Apple TV of Edward was good for passing the time. I havnt read Dear Edward though. 7mo

Daddy's Gone A-hunting | Penelope Mortimer, Valerie Grove
post image

It‘s “ Bye Baby Bunting,” she discovered eagerly. But how sad!
In a little while her lips moved soundlessly, forming words remote and innocent as the melody itself
…Baby Bunting
Daddy‘s gone a -hunting,
Gone to fetch a rabbit skin
To wrap his Baby Bunting in,
Bye Baby Bunting

The 1950s. Life at that time.
I thought the little music box and song so poignant. Holding the themes of the story.
Hauntingly real, beautifully written. #Persephoneclub

jlhammar Lovely photo and review! I agree, so poignant and just stellar writing. 8mo
Cathythoughts @jlhammar ThanksX Yes poignant. I think ‘Daddy‘s Gone A Hunting ‘ rings so many bells for that time , where were the men ? Making a living , very important I know , but so missing in other ways. , and Ruth was such a real character, a time when women were taking ‘acceptable‘ prescription medication just to get through the day. I loved Ruth‘s strong protection of her daughter. 8mo
Cathythoughts @jlhammar Also , just that Ruth asked Rex about his loneliness .. often a lonely set up for man and wife. .. Sorry , Im going on a bit , but I was born in the 1950‘s , so I remember what happened in this time in so many families ♥️ (edited) 8mo
See All 14 Comments
jlhammar @Cathythoughts Great points. It really was a brilliant use of that nursery rhyme - alludes to so much of what was going on at the time. 8mo
Cathythoughts @jlhammar The metaphor of that rhyme goes on and on the more you let it sink in. ❤️ (edited) 8mo
batsy Loved seeing all of your thoughtful reviews of this book. I definitely need to move this up the TBR! 8mo
Cathythoughts @batsy Thanks Suba, I think you would like it 👍🏻♥️ 8mo
LeahBergen What a beautiful review, Cathy. This was such a marvellous read! 8mo
Cathythoughts @LeahBergen Wasn‘t it just !! So good ♥️ 8mo
andrew61 I'm glad you highlighted the rhyme and musical box Cathy, both innocent and sinister. Yes, men don't come off well in 1950s stories. Great review. 8mo
Cathythoughts @andrew61 They don‘t. But I think Ruth was aware of Lex‘s loneliness too … men had their own trials. (edited) 8mo
andrew61 @Cathythoughts Yes Rex is very troubled and this followed quickly on my reading for irl grp The tortoise and the hare Cathy which similarly had a main male character who did not evoke much empathy. 8mo
Tamra Lovely review Cathy - glad you were able to fit it in! 8mo
Cathythoughts @Tamra I nearly let it go for now as life‘s been busy. I‘m so glad I read it now ❤️❤️❤️ 8mo

Girl in Snow: A Novel | Danya Kukafka
post image

This is Kukafka‘s debut book. I had loved Notes on an Execution, and this Girl in Snow is equally addictive. In a Colorado suburb a young girl is found murdered. We listen to the inner worlds of the suspects and the policeman involved. The characters are fascinating and real. I‘ll be thinking about this for awhile as different details click into place for me. A literary thriller of substance. I‘m looking forward to her next book. 💫💫💫💫💫

“Saying these unmentionable things out loud never ceased to horrify her. They were her secrets , battened down so long that they had become almost unrecognisable as the truth. “

I‘m glad to find a kindred spirit who talks out loud to herself , often after her old fashioned cocktail in the evening ( or a glass of wine )
I love this truthful writing. ♥️♥️♥️ #PersephoneClub

andrew61 Sounds great Cathy. Hoping to get to it next week. 9mo
Tamra Isn‘t the writing fabulous?! I too found a lot of truths which resonated. 😌 9mo
Cathythoughts @andrew61 It‘s very good. I‘m late getting to it myself, and have family coming to stay tomorrow… so It might be a couple of weeks before I get a proper chance to read it through. 9mo

A pick 🤷‍♀️ maybe. I loved it because it was engaging and because it got me out of a major slump. It was a fresh insight into todays world. I felt Junes lonelines , the reaching into the past of personal and historical. The parents ,
fearful of the dark souls of their children, I loved the nuance and balance of this perspective.
But I‘m also left with a feeling I don‘t understand or like. The jury is out 🤔

Tamra Love Lisa‘s summer look! 😎 That has to feel good for her. 9mo
Tamra Hmmmm, your review is interesting. I want to check it out, but I‘m wondering if I should recommend it for work book club? (edited) 9mo

Cathythoughts @Tamra I‘m still really interested in Babel ! 9mo
Tamra @Cathythoughts after reading reviews of Yellow Face I realized she wrote Babel and though it was on my radar, I hadn‘t considered reading it. Fantasy is not usually my thing, but I admit the premise seems intriguing. It‘s a chunkster! 9mo
Tamra @Cathythoughts thank you! 9mo
batsy An intriguing review! I'm curious to see what I'll make of it. (Hi, Lisa! 😍) 9mo

The Hatter's Ghosts | Georges Simenon
post image

The Hatter and the tailor live directly across from each other in a little French town , with only a ‘trench ‘ like space between them. They see intimately into each others lives. I loved reading the details of their everyday. Here it has been raining since the first body was discovered, now five more bodies have been found in La Rochelle.
Brilliantly told, we enter the unravelling mind of the killer. A page turner for me.

Cathythoughts I found this one down a Litsy rabbit hole 👍🏻😁 @TheCruciverbalisticBookworm (edited) 9mo

Yoked with a Lamb | Molly Clavering
post image

Well that was a fun read. I think I almost shed a tear at the end too. I enjoyed the second half, far more than the first. The emotional action and intrigue picked up. Lucy is really put down as a villain, but it didn‘t work for me ( aren‘t we supposed to secretly love/hate villains ? ? )
I won‘t say anymore, Darlings! 😂
But I‘m looking forward to a bit of discussion 😁 . #FurrowedMiddlebrowClub

Cathythoughts I still don‘t really understand the title. Does it mean to have a lamb like nature inside us ? 🤔 10mo
batsy Gorgeous photo! I'm almost towards the end, and I also agree that the second half is much better. I was just at the "yoked with a lamb" bit in the book and mulling over the title, as well... Need to have a think. Was wondering if I have to reread Julius Caesar to get it ? 10mo
Cathythoughts @batsy reread Julius Caesar to get it !! Keep us posted 😂 This reading life won‘t let us rest ! 10mo

jlhammar What a beautiful photo! Great review. I‘m almost to the second half. Can‘t wait to read more today! 10mo
Tamra What a gorgeous pic! 🌸 I‘m only halfway in and I am hoping to get a bead on Lucy, so far there isn‘t much to go on. I love the small village gossipy vibe.😜 10mo
Cathythoughts @CarolynM @jlhammar @Tamra Enjoy the rest of the book Ladies ❤️ 10mo
Ruthiella Totally agree. The Lucy vs Andrew thing irritated me to no end. FOUR YEARS! 😳 10mo
catebutler Love your review! I definitely agree that the second half of the book picks up. I think I have two chapters left and it has completely sucked me in. 10mo
LeahBergen What a gorgeous photo, Cathy! I‘m still not very far into this but I‘ll come back to comment when I‘m done. 😘 10mo
erzascarletbookgasm I am hoping to start this tomorrow. Lovely review.🩷 10mo

Cathythoughts @catebutler Thankyou. It‘s really good. ❤️ 10mo
Cathythoughts @LeahBergen I hope you enjoy the rest ❤️ 10mo
Cathythoughts @erzascarletbookgasm It‘s a good one 👍🏻😁 10mo
Tamra @Cathythoughts I had to look it up, but I think Clavering applied it brilliantly. https://myshakespeare.com/julius-caesar/act-4-scene-2-popup-note-index-item-the-... (edited) 10mo
Cathythoughts @Tamra Thanks for the link. I‘ll have to put on my thinking cap … very interesting 👍🏻😘 10mo
jlhammar Okay, just finished. Lucy as villain didn't work for me either! It actually really bothered me. Struck me as very unfair. Typical and not all that surprising though, especially for the time. It was all the more troubling to me that a woman, Molly Clavering, chose to write Lucy and Andrew's relationship the way she did. I guess I would have preferred a more feminist slant and some female solidarity. 10mo
Cathythoughts @jlhammar Not surprising for the time , as you say. Yes we want more female solidarity ♥️👍🏻 (edited) 9mo
LeahBergen @Cathythoughts @batsy I just finished and found myself doing “homework”… I listened to the Leezie Lindsay song on YouTube. 😆 9mo

A soft pick.
Beautiful setting in Vermont as the Professor and family take in his nephew , whose parents have just been killed.
This starts off well and ends well , but it falls down in the middle. I would nearly have bailed but I had to find out how this ended , and I‘m glad I found out. I‘d try another by this author as I liked his writing and there were some thrilling moments.

BarbaraBB Good to know, I‘ll temper my expectations! 10mo
Cathythoughts @BarbaraBB There are some really good bits 👍🏻 10mo
Cathythoughts That‘s just my opinion Barbara, you know how books are …. It‘s unpredictable what people will think. 😁 We had Birnam Wood for our IRL Bookclub and it turned out to be a serious marmite result. @BarbaraBB (edited) 10mo
