so-so
I'm going on my first silent retreat in a few months and when I went looking for a book about them I came across this one. Jennifer is a bit frustrating (judging, judging) but there are pieces of understanding gained by reading about her journey. Plus she's at a retreat with famous people! Great resources at the end for people new to a practice. Probably only recommended if it's super relative to you.
SusanInTiburon I put off doing my first silent retreat for years because I wasn't sure I could do without recreational reading for that long. (😂 It was only five days.) But I'm glad I let go of that. It is so worth it! 8y
Lindy A going-on-retreat book that I love is 8y
The Barn at the End of the World: The Apprenticeship of a Quaker, Buddhist Shepherd
ReadingEnvy @SusanInTiburon my first one will only be 2.5 days but I'm scared of the not reading thing in particular!! I can live without my phone and the internet but then what, just me myself and I? Eek! 8y
