Head-to-head with Nicci French and Karin Slaughter Daily Mirror THE FIRST BODY IS A MYSTERY. She's young. She's beautiful. And her corpse, laid out in the office of Boston medical examiner Kat Novak, betrays no secrets - except for a matchbook clutched in one stiff hand, seven numbers scrawled inside. THE NEXT BODY IS A WARNING. When a second victim is discovered, Kat begins to fear that a serial killer is stalking the streets. The police are sceptical. The mayor won't listen. And Kat's chief suspect is one of the town's most prominent citizens. THE FINAL BODY . . . MIGHT BE HERS. With the death toll rising, Kat races to expose a deadly predator who is closer than she ever dreamt. And every move she makes could be her very last.

I enjoyed this book from Tess Gerritsen. It was first published as 'Peggy Sue Got Murdered', but I don't know the year. It was her first book at a crime thriller. I had never read it, bought it at a library book sale, and decided to see what it was about. Not disappointed by it, but it's more romantic suspense to me.

Kat Novack is an assistant ME, that is putting her life back together from a divorce. A Jane Doe comes into the ME's office from ⬇️

Monica5 an apparent drug overdose. Kat doesn't think anything of it, because drug overdoses, said to say, are common. But soon there are others, and the drug is new.

Adam is wealthy and a widower. His step-daughter is missing. He has been looking for her with no luck. Soon his and Kat's lives collide.

They go on the hunt for his step-daughter and the drug. The only question is can they survive it?

🙂 Happy Reading 🙃

Lincoln Child and Tess Gerritsen 😁👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻!!! I didn't know he lives in Morristown 😎👌🏻. They are meeting for the first time. She just told a story: Her first rejection letter was written by an editor named Lincoln Child...yes, THIS Lincoln Child! But it was the nicest rejection letter she ever received. #MorristownBookFestival #MorristownMeetUp

"Tess Gerritsen doesn‘t write a bad story. From her Rizzoli & Isles series to her countless stand alones, she‘s a master at her craft. This older thriller is no exception." Reviewed by Thalia https://goo.gl/WnfdVV
