This book gave me lots of feels. It is a poignant look into how Native Americans were forced to assimilate into reservations and in “the white mans” world. It also hit home because of the location it took place. In and around Pagosa Springs, CO which is my home away from home.
Tom Black grew up on the land until forced into a reservation. He then ended up as a bronc rider in the rodeo. He returns to live off the land after his career ends.
Izai.Amorim The sad thing is, people give up so much of their culture to assimilate, they pay a high price but in the end they remain second class citizens. Why bother? 6y
