I was in the middle of a chapter about Tunisia when I heard about the attack in Nice yesterday. It gave me the chills. This book was published in 2016 so the info is four years old. Things have drastically evolved again since then. However, this was a great source of info for anyone, like me, who doesn‘t fully understand the repercussions of the Arab Spring and how this lead to the rise of ISIS. Very well written and really easy to understand.

Reading a little history/politics this morning before I do my last whirlwind holiday prep. This moment of quiet gives me an opportunity to be thankful for my peaceful life.

Can't wait until Winter Break when I'll be able to get back to reading for pleasure instead of doing all this class reading! Reading about the failure of the Arab Spring and the Euro Crisis is getting mighty depressing...
