I like to respond by reading things that talk about concrete, addressable issues (like Balko‘s Rise of the Warrior Cop).

But it is also nice to unwind with some pulpy entertainment. Per Davis, Changa is “Conan with a job,” a merchant whose adventures take him from the east coast of Africa all the way to China. The first two stories in this volume take place on the western coast of India and in Yemen.
