The nazis found them and killed his parents and took him to a concentration camp. Where he still had his harmonica and got bread every night because he played for his mean commandant.
When their family was happy the boy played the harmonica his dad had given him and his parents danced to his music.
pick-historical fiction
Very touching book. May be sensitive to young ready but very truthful and heart wrenching. Easy read, but would gear it toward older kids because of the plot and vocabulary.
