This is an adoption memoir with teeth--don't expect sweetness and sentiment and cuddly baby stuff. Savage (as really everyone who has even heard of him on a surface level already knows) is fairly raunchy, incredibly blunt, and pretty LOL in places. This was written in 1999, and has got some stuff that may make our 2021 selves clutch our pearls. But the story is so good, and it literally choked me up in certain places.
