My neglected Kindle got a turn with January‘s #doublespin - I thought this got off to a great start, a pitch perfect modern urban fairytale. Then it became a more pedestrian story of the early days of parenthood. Just when I thought it was about to lose me, the dark fairytale came back with a vengeance. LaValle peels back modern day New York to reveal timeless evil with a few plot twists I wasn‘t expecting. Glad I persevered for this unique read!

Last of the two part Memory War series. Trying to end the 'forever war' run for and by corporations whose only desire is to control everything. Aliens seem like an additional way to win the war, but they aren't what they appear and offer a new vector toward fighting the corporations.

Imaginative, innovative in some respects and has lots of action.

My February choices. Currently reading ‘Les Miserables‘ with #ReadLesMis (not pictured) & starting ‘The Bell Jar‘ with the #hashtagbrigade on the 9th.

Here‘s my picks for #bookspinbingo. #4 is my #bookspin pick and #10 is my #doublespin pick. My #bookspin pick is going to be Assassin‘s Apprentice by Robin Hobb for the #realmoftheelderlings readalong. I don‘t think I‘ll finish it this month because the audiobook is 17 hrs but I want to at least start it. My #doublespin will be a series I‘m finishing on my Kindle but I will be able to finish the series that I picked.
