The memorable story begun in When the Wind Blows continues in this thrilling novel, and it's one that really soars! Frannie O'Neil, a Colorado veterinarian, knows a terrible secret that will change the history of the world. Kit Harrison, an FBI agent under suspension has seen things that no one in his right mind would believe. A twelve-year-old girl named Max and five other incredible children have powers we can only dream of. These children can fly. And the only place they will be safe is the Lake House. Or so they believe..

Pickpick

It felt like the sequel wasn't part of the original plan, so some things didn't feel right. Like in When the Wind Blows, it was stressed more than once that even though the kids were super smart and super strong, they were still just children. In the Lakehouse, they suddenly started mentioning that they are older in bird years. This was done obviously to justify certain actions, which just never sat right with me. Otherwise a very good story.

ReadingRover Yeah these were kind of like trial runs for the Maximum Ride series. Im not positive but that‘s what they seemed like. I‘m pretty sure they came out before that series. 6y
Paperback.Propensity @ReadingRover The Maximum Ride series seemed like another afterthought to me, but I admit I didn't read it. 6y
ReadingRover I really liked Maximum Ride but as it got to the end of the series it kind of started to go all over the place. I still have to get through the last book. The audiobook at the library was damaged and I haven‘t wanted to pay for it on Audible. 6y

Now starting the sequel to When the Wind Blows. I read book one for the first time at age 11, but I never did read the sequel, so here goes!
