Pickpick

This HF book is told by a cat named “Mouschi” who lived with Ann Frank during the time of the Holocaust. The cat in this book describes her as being kind and loving. They were hidden so that the German soldiers could not find them. During that time, Mouschi was drawn to Ann. She would write about a better future & life for herself and friends. I loved how this book took quotes from Ann‘s diary and included real information.

Summerm This book would best be utilized using the UDL principles 3.1 (activate or supply background knowledge) & 2.4 (illustrate through multiple media). EL strategies that could be used for this book would be: 11 (place language in meaningful text) & 17 (provide contextual support through audio visuals, models, demonstrations, Realia, body language and facial expressions). https://educators.brainpop.com/bp-topic/anne-frank/ #ucflea3414su19 5y
Summerm 3.1 (teaching the class background knowledge about the time of WW2 would help the students understand the hardship she was going through and that it was real.

17 (giving appropriate visuals can guide the students and give them more information on the time of this story plot)
