pickImmortality-gift or curse? Good read that shows how gifts sometimes cause you great pain.
so-soThis book starts with an interesting premise...a new drug discovered by a small pharma group gives them the ability to live forever. They have become Immortal, then murder and mayhem begins. The rest of the book is full of intrigue and espionage, including some violence I winced through. A page turning plot yet the lack of a strong likable character forces me to give it a So-So rating.
pickThis seems to have a lot of mixed reviews, but I liked it for the most part. Short chapters and a quick read, I‘d consider it a fast-paced thriller. A little unbelievable in parts (but most thrillers are, in my opinion) and wrapped up maybe a little too neatly at the end, but I enjoyed the ride.
bailedThis was a quick read but, after reading about a third of the book, I decided I couldn't take the "Dirk Dangerness" of it all. Also, the dialogue was awful and the flipping between first person and not-first-person didn't work for me. Ugh. I finally gave it up. 2/5 just for.an interesting premise.

Prepare for sleep-deprived nights and skipped chores while repeating the phrase: "Just one more page."
so-soI would give this book in between a so-so and a pick. The first 15-20% of the book was a bit slow and boring. I am glad I stayed with it though. I wasn‘t able to guess “who dun it” easily and the reason behind that person‘s actions seemed to align with their character. But some things seemed just a bit too easy for the crime solvers. All in all not a bad read.
