This is a RF book that is written in both English and Spanish that has won the 2011 Americas Award for Children and young Adult Literature and would be good for IR. It‘s about a young girl from the Mazateca tribe who is forced, along with her village, to move to land that is inhabitable. Her family go through a tragic accident while settling into their new village but together they solve their problems.

This resource helps students organize the plot and setting while reading. This aligns with UDL strategy 2.4, promote understanding across langauges and it also aligns with ESOL strategy 7 of using a graphic organizer to map the story. #ucflae3414su19 6y
