One more post about this cute book...here is an illustration showing how the 80 year old main character made herself feel safer alone in her cabin at night. She called it "the contraption" and set it up nightly. Notice the gun in her hand. ?
pickThis has to be one of the sweetest books I've ever read. It's about an 80 year old woman who is told she has "young legs" so she leaves her comfortable life in San Francisco and moves to a cabin in the Siskiyou Mountains. Often hilarious, sometimes suspenseful, her story is enchanting. Glad I picked it up at the used book sale.
