A good ending to the series, thankfully. Often a build up to a big reveal can fall flat, but Ito delivered on his promise!
I felt the Cronenbergian body-horror element peaked in volume 2, not that it wasn't present in 3, but the emphasis in the final instalment was on the weird, and building more towards a Lovecraftian cosmic horror. Unsettling fun: 4/5 🐌

The last volume in a deeply unsettling horror manga series. The jolts come from high strangeness instead of graphic violence. In this it reminds me of Parasyte. Highly recommended.

kammartinez Ohhhh man, Junji Ito: the master of disturbing horror manga. I have a hard time reading his work because it really freaks me out - and that's a rather hard thing to do, as I'm the kind of person who can watch The Walking Dead while eating a steak and be quite happy about the situation. 8y
