Author: Tony Abbot
Genre: Science Fiction(SF)
The Sleeping Giant of Goll is an exciting and action-packed story about 3 friends and their adventure saving the city of Droon from a mean old giant. This Science Fiction (SF) book takes the reader on a true adventure across faraway lands and ancient kingdoms. This book is perfect for Independent reading (IR) and will definitely get the attention of any thrill-seeker in your class.

LauraLeighn The group of friends are always having to come up with solutions and solve problems, which is why ESOL 47.( Use information gap activities, sharing pieces of information to solve problems) would be a great principle to use on this book. Have the student write a story about how they would solve the problem on the Giant, or complete coloring puzzles. You can aid in comprehension by applying UDL principle 3.1( Activate or supply background knowledge) 4y
LauraLeighn and provide other books about kingdoms and giants. There were not any activities for this book or even an updated author website so I linked a resource that has a bunch of fun activities centered around knights and dragons. https://www.happyandblessedhome.com/preschool-activities-castles-catapults-shiel... #ucflae3414SU20 4y
DrSpalding What a cool photo! I agree with independent reading however it could also be a resource that you use when teaching about ancient civilizations in social studies. 4y
