pickMikhail Shishkin is one of my favourite writers. Hands down. But little of his work has been translated into English (I pre-ordered Taking Izmail in 2016 & publication has now been put back to 2019 ?!) It's fitting then that many of these "stories" talk of his own work, the power of love and literature and the problems of translation. Nevertheless, the writing is superlative and complex so a special thanks to those brave translators!
