A former homicide detective in Detroit, Morgan is back in her old hometown of Bijoux, Michigan to take over the reins of police captain from her dad, Able. The town has undergone quite a transformation since she lived here with new, kitschy shops along Main Street and a burgeoning tourist trade. Even the iconic pink Firefly Bed & Breakfast has jumped on the bandwagon and is hosting a romance writers' convention with some of the biggest names in the 'happily ever after' biz.Morgan hopes to ease into her new job, new cottage, and new life - after all, Bijoux hasn't had a murder in a hundred years. But all of Morgan's plans go up in smoke when the biggest diva of the romance world is found dead.As Morgan and her deputy, JJ Jones, begin their investigation, the townspeople have no qualms about telling her how to do her job, including Caleb Joseph, owner of the local bookstore who is far too nosy (and attractive) for Morgan's comfort.With the town in turmoil, Morgan will have to rely on her big-city cop skills to catch a killer with a passion for murder.
