Nightfall
Nightfall: Nightmareland Volume One | Daniel Barnett
3 posts | 2 read | 4 to read
"Tomorrow died on the last morning of May. There were those who saw it happen, who watched the shadow fall, who felt the chop of the guillotine as the world lost its head. Everyone else witnessed only the aftermath, for the event itself lasted no longer than a moment. They stepped outside from windowless rooms, they climbed up from crowded subways, they pulled back the blinds to let in the sun, and found the nightmare waiting for them."But the dark is only the beginning.

🎧 HORROR

GREAT START TO A SERIES OF NOVELLAS.

You will become invested & familiar with John & Mariah here. Well fleshed out. The start of a mystery embedded in a horror story.

Volume 1 of 6 … potentially 12?

The prose is impeccable. You‘re scared, grossed out, wondering what‘s next.

I hope this is eventually a bind up. Available on KU. I was surprised how much I enjoyed this book.

Like horror? Read this.

I bought Nightfall after hearing it enthusiastically reviewed by several people I follow on BookTube. Nightfall is the first of 6 books in the Nightmareland Chronicles, the final book was published a month ago. The basic premise of Nightmareland Chronicles is that one day the sun suddenly disappears, without warning. After this happens strange events soon start occurring, but it's not clear if this is a direct result of the sun's disappearance👇

vivastory or something else that will be revealed in a subsequent book. Nightmareland Chronicles is described as “an ongoing serialized adventure horror epic“. People often describe it as being similar to King's The Dark Tower & it seems it is this aspect of it that they are referring, or at least what I know of it having only read the first book. I liked, didn't love this book. Will probably carry on with the series on my e-reader as it's free on KU. 2y
Twainy I got this book for my birthday. I need to read it! I was hoping it would end & there‘d be an omnibus or special edition. 😁 2y
