This was a fun twisty thriller/mystery that takes place in foster care. You can‘t stop. I listened to this in one sitting.

Just what I needed, a fantastic distraction.

Three young women return to the town where they spent time in foster care at the behest of the local constabulary. A dead body has been found under the house they were fostered in.

What horrible secrets, past & present, are ready to be unearthed?

Popcorn ♥️

A quick depressing read about a depressed woman following a mental breakdown. She‘s a hermit & you‘re in her head going through memories & I‘m still not sure if they‘re fond or cringey memories for her. The prose is exact & lovely. The memories range from sad to horrific. Her friend Sam who changes his name at will & poops in the woods … ok I‘ll stop talking about it … it‘s just so weird! I liked it! Tag me if you read/review it!

Scarsden sets out to write a story on the anniversary of a mass shooting. The story he‘s familiar with isn‘t what he finds in this small Australian Outback drought-ridden community.

There‘s more murder, death, a car accident, even romance. Townsfolk are divided on their feelings for the mass murdering priest. The characters are outspoken & clearly developed. Even the oppressive heat becomes a character.

Similar to Harper‘s The Dry.

Are you a fan of comedy? Around the birth of SNL? Then this is a MUST read … or listen. Dan Aykroyd & John Belushi origin stories culminating in a deep dive into the movie & behind the scenes. Relationships, skits, other movies! So many comedians, etc! I loved it! Just bought the movie & Blues Brothers 2000 & pre-ordered the book, thinking about checking out the SNL back list or Best Ofs

Publication date - 3/19/24.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

TieDyeDude My wife and I watch SNL skits on YouTube all the time. I don't know if Blues Brothers 2000 was a wise purchase (😉), but the original sketches and the first movie are burned into my brain. When moving to Colorado, I took a route that specifically went through IL to see the jail where the opening scene was filmed. I'll definitely check this out! 2w

This book was remarkably fascinating. I love picking up a book with no preamble… to find that I‘m hooked early on.

It‘s nonfiction

Multiple mysteries, coverups, murder.

I‘d read more.

Holy smoke!! The Broken Binding subscription box. The first 2 books in The Hanged God trilogy. I have 3 pictures, sorry.

I‘ve never heard of these books but it‘s a really cool collection. There‘s colored foiling on all 3 sides of the books & spredges look to form a tree when combined. The end papers are cool and all are different. Signed & numbered.

I think the wait list for tier one is a decade but tier two is under a year. The books worth it!

I was unsure about this book but it looked fun & didn‘t disappoint! For me it felt like a cross between Agent to the Stars & Galaxy Quest. SO! MUCH! FUN! A quick fun read! The narrator was perfect, it felt like an instant classic.

Space rabbits land during the commotion of WWII and go into hiding but they multiply like … rabbits & soon due to their growing numbers, they will be revealed, but how? HA!

I enjoyed this book. It‘s a compilation of 9 short stories I enjoyed the interaction between the 2 MC‘s! I‘d like a series of full length fantasy novels featuring these two. Fun idea! I don‘t feel these stories were written with being in a compilation in mind so they don‘t meld smoothly together but each taken on their own is great fun. The narrator was a good fit!!

You KNOW I thought this was a vampire book lol It‘s a mystery, thriller, with a side of humor.

A man on death row proclaims himself innocent.

Logan our veteran turned poorly paid flight instructor is sleuthing his way through this story.

There‘s a brief set up period but once you get through that it‘s a steady pace of action/adventure/humor.

Book 2. I read book 1, 5 years ago. A good story if not a bit non-politically correct.

Nonstop back and forth storylines between Sally/her mom and Peter/Stevie. As the story unfolds you and Sally discover the horrors she & her mom went through & what Peter, as his father‘s favorite, denied. Great story. Terribly bleak. Psychological thriller. Crime! Ireland/NZ locations.

There are a few triggers. It‘s a quick read.

I didn‘t want to like this. It‘s a #BOTM book & I like to pass them …. It took me like 20% and then I was hooked. Funny. Realistic. Quirky. Weird. Almost a bit frustrating at a couple points but ok. I thought it was going to be sci-fi! I loved some of the phrases she uses. It was a character study of a half deaf podcaster who grew up with a clinically depressed mom. The end brings a revelation. It took me a while to get into the MTG card thing.

Very like a fairytale. There‘s a sex scene.

I liked the premise. A girl who has magic which is considered an illegal infection/illness & should not be allowed to live. On top of this she has a monster in her head. She is taken in by rebels looking for a cure. Plan is to pretend engagement. Fake fiancé can enter her mind but promises not to until an emergency. Stay tuned for book 2.

This wasn‘t what I was looking for so the rating is how I feel not necessarily how you will feel.

Personal stories about the author‘s life & people he has come across in life. His 6 choices are interesting but really don‘t solve anxiety.

1 sentence made sense to me. The root of anxiety can be due to a number of things … you should see your MD & look for chemical imbalances in your brain, heart irregularities & hormone levels.

I enjoyed the story but it jumped around in a mixed up timeline. I didn‘t see the killer until the twist. It made sense in hind sight. I think the horror comes from Amy‘s fear of her own shadow. There were some good believable characters. The dialog wasn‘t bad. I‘d listen to another book by this author.

This is a whirl wind trip to Atlantic City with Steven, Finlay‘s mom, her kids, her new boyfriend, her sister, her sister‘s GF, the FBI … this story made me LAUGH! You know everything will turn out but getting there is all the fun!

Audiobook‘s really engaging & includes background noise.

Cady runs a river taxi. She ferries passengers through a 60 mile ghost dragon on the Nysis. She starts her day today by picking up a very sick young girl who‘s in danger & an AI. Right up my alley.

The Nysis is treacherous, there‘s challenging ports & horrors that lurk beneath the surface.

Cady lost her ability not to age so this could be her last journey.

Personal rating - you cheated me out of $50 - 1 ⭐️

Everything about this book felt YA, in that sense I feel it did a good job. Young girl on the run with secret dark magic … enemies to lovers kind of … teen dialog … Emily Post-like dark boarding school … nothing is fully explained (guess you need to buy book 2).
