I don‘t usually mind single POV in romance, but the POV chosen here was so miserable and whining for the first 2/3 of the story and the love interest seemed so cold and unpleasant (because I didn‘t get any sense of what was going on inside his head) that I almost bailed and was actually hate reading for a while. It got better towards the end so I‘m not panning it, but it‘s a close call. I won‘t be reading the sequel. #romantsy

This book has all the best tropes & yet still felt unique. Plus cute banter and characters galore! Ned is a PhD student trying to finish his dissertation so he can move back closer to his daughter. Abbott is his former statistics professor who nearly failed him & now is his best chance at helping him. When a new staff policy bans working after hours, they pretend to date to get things done.
