L'enfant noir
L'enfant noir: roman | Camara Laye

Pickpick

Originally written in the 1950s, these memoirs written by a 25-year-old author about his growing up in Guinea reveals the daily life, customs and traditions of his time.
It's a short read that will open a window to witness life there and then through the eyes of the author. If you pick this book, keep in mind that it's main focus is daily life, so it may not interest everyone.

Super quick read exploring the authors childhood in French Guinea. It speaks of humanity‘s similarities throughout different cultures, from boys pulling girls hair to adolescent bullying to noting how country folk speak slower. It‘s a book every teen should read. #litsypassport

athorne I've never heard of this book, but I find it intriguing that the cover has a single spark on it. Huh. Or is it supposed to be a snake? #iswearimnotapervert #okaymaybeiam #butstill (edited) 7y
Tove_Reads @TheGhastlyGrimoire Hmm, good question. I figured it was a snake, but a dark sparky would make sense. Maybe I'll find out when I start reading the book. 7y
athorne @Tove_Reads Let me know! 😹😹😹 7y

athorne Omg. I meant sperm. Not spark. 7y
