so-so

BOUND by Alan Baxter is a gritty contemporary fantasy about a cage fighter who discovers he has magical abilities. While it does a good job of challenging some stereotypes, it succumbs to others--particularly in relation to its female characters. Not my cup of tea, but may appeal to readers who like plot-driven thrillers.
