Welcome to Litsy!

Much to my surprise, in the end I liked this one but I didn‘t love it. Definitely my least favorite Cosby book. As always, it‘s a great setting, characters are flawed & all sorts of interesting, the writing is excellent—and for all those reasons the book is still a pick for me—but by the end I was ready for it to be over. This one is dark & keeps getting darker with each page turned. Still a huge fan of Cosby & I‘ll keep reading his books.

You know how you sometimes try to sneak in a little reading before starting your work and then that book is so good you keep telling yourself “just one more chapter and then I‘ll get to work…” and then four or five chapters later you realize you won‘t be able to put the book down and it‘s a good thing you have a flexible schedule…yeah, this is one of those times…

Happy Publication Day!! While this isn‘t my favorite of Cosby‘s novels, I think this latest is the most epic & cinematic feeling, even if it mostly takes place over just a few weeks. With his father in the hospital, financial advisor Roman returns to Jefferson Run, VA. He‘s prepared to help siblings Neveah & Dante in literally any way as violence, secrets & lies crash through the entire novel. A compelling, well-performed & well-written listen!

2. Yes! 😂 I will preorder a stand alone or book in a series by an author I know. Also, an author I haven‘t read before if I see good reviews or am otherwise intrigued although I do this less frequently.

1) I‘m eagerly awaiting my copy of the tagged although I won‘t read it until its #CampLitsy25 week. I have also preordered the latest Louise Penny due in November. B&N often has 25% off preorders so you can get the book you want and tell your husband it was a great deal when it shows up 😂

2) Mostly auto buy authors although not many series lately

My #botm choices this month! I was on the fence about A Family Matter, but then I saw @squirrelbrain ‘s review and picked it up.

King of Ashes is our awesome #CampLitsy25 August pick, and Other Side sounded like a nice light summer read.

This is the second book I‘ve read by S.A. Cosby and I think it will be my last. Although it was suspenseful and fast paced, there is too much violence for me. The audio was well done.

UNPUTDOWNABLE!!! A 6🌟read!!
S.A. Cosby is another automatic read author for me. Whatever he writes, I will read it. He has outdone himself with this Godfather-inspired Southern crime epic. It's gritty and gruesome, and he writes that kind of horror so poetically. This has his signature razor-sharp prose and morally complex characters, that gives us a story that‘s both deeply intimate and cut-throat explosive. 🔥

Well, this is exciting!!! Coming out in June!
